I'm going to keep this short and sweet;

Go get tested for food allergies. You owe it to yourself, and it's likely the cause of your persistent acne.

Admittedly I'm no where near perfect, but it's only been a month or so since I've made dietary changes. Look at the report; my body is literally allergic to everything. These are foods I was eating every day.

To reiterate, go get tested for food allergies.

That's only the first page. There are three in the package, the others have things that I'm not allergic to, which I can eat.
I can eat chicken, beef, pork, veggies, rice, etc, etc.

And they test for all those things in one session.

How much did the test cost? My doctor told me allergy tests are expensive...did they also test for environmental allergies (pollen, grass, hay etc)?
Did you have to take blood tests for it?

i had those done as well and i was apparently allergic to many different things such as wheat, gluten, eggs, all forms of dairy, beef, garlic, pineapple, malt, barely, rye etc. i went to a wellness doctor that did a blood test for over 100 different foods and spices. i cut out all the items on the list and my face been even worse the last 2 months. i talked to my primary care doctor about it and he said most of those tests are not accurate and that he used to do them in his office but doesnt do them anymore because everybody that had the test done ended up being allergic to so many different things that they ate on a daily basis. he told me get a notebook and write down what i eat and then if i have any reactions and that will tell me what i am truly allergic to. i thought avoiding all those foods was the answer but i was wrong and after spending over $400 on that testing it was determined by my derm that my acne is hormonal. i hope it works out for you though and wish you all the best.
one more thing, that test said i am not allergic to shrimp but the last time i ate it i blew up like a freaking balloon. my entire face was distorted and it took days for me to look like my normal self again. i will never eat shrimp again thats for sure!

The test cost me 175$. I did it at Red Paw Data Services (http://redpaw.net/), in Toronto.
You could do a separate test for environmental allergies if you'd like, but I opted for just food.

There's no bloodwork whatsoever. The testing I did was digital; it involves the technician touching a metal(?) piece to your finger, and the results show up on the screen. Feel free to call in, or search around their FAQ if you have any more specific questions.

175$ in my case was clearly worth it, I'm glad I got it done.

I'm sorry to hear you didn't see an improvement. May I ask, was the test you underwent digital or physical (scratch)?

The digital tests are much more accurate, afaik. Also, this doesn't negate that they might still be allergic to these items. Different degrees of allergy concerning symptoms, and seriousness; throat closing, death, acne, etc.

Mine was 175$. 400$ sounds expensive! How long a course did you try the new diet for? Evidently, some cases might take months to see results; purging of impurities, etc.

I got an Alcat test done using my blood and it was sent to a path lab, testing for a lot of foods. Apparantly it's 83% accurate. Just wondering, are these things accurate and real? I have seen improvement already in 2 weeks. I broke out a bit because I could eat cheese and I ate to much, hah.

i was going to get the digital test done at another wellness place but at least to me those don't seem like they would be very accurate i dont know though. i had to go for the initial consult which was around $100 then it was around $235 for the blood work and another $65 for the results. i feel like this place scammed me even though my mom knows people that have gone there and had good results and the doctor is very well known too. its odd it said i was allergic to all forms of dairy but this past august i did a test where i went a month without dairy and a month with eating dairy and i had no breakouts so i know for sure i am not allergic to dairy. i started breaking out again in november so this is when i had the testing done so its only been about 2 months but its so odd to have such bad skin while i have eliminated everything on the list that i am allerigic to. my derm concluced i have hormonal acne since it only occurs on the lower half of the face so for me while i dont think my test was very accurate i am sure it is for some people i would just hate for somebody to have gone through what i did and not see results and waste all that cash. i still do the diet pretty much now but have started to eat a cheat meal every week or two and will probably start eating most of the foods again on the list again because there is nothing worse than feeling deprived and having bad skin ya know? keep us updated on your progress!

He also told me to cut out several kinds of alcohol, but found no other major food allergies. The testing method was homeopathic, using magnetic poles and some other contraption imported from Germany. I was so desperate to cure my acne, I took that test - no bloodwork involved. He gave me sodium chloride drops for seasonal allergies and they actually worked for a while, then my body became immune to them.
I'm thinking, though, if you are allergic to certain foods then acne would not be the only symptom, right? Did you have any other allergic reactions to eating the foods you were diagnosed as allergic to?

As a child I had issues with headaches, migraines. As I got older these went away for the most part.

Thank you; I consider my progress lucky as well.

 

And yes, use tea tree oil in conjunction. Specifically, Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner, and Teat Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash. I use a Body Shop brand;

 

As you can see, It's been working wonders for me.

Hey,

 

Is allergic blood testing where they stick you with little needles on your wrist? Could it cause you to break out? My skin has become super sensitive after having to stop taking certain supplements, and now I get almost immediate reaction from some foods.
