This might sound stupid....and obviously I'm not a skin expert, but blackheads get their distinct black color when that mixture of oil and dead skin that is clogging your pores oxidizes right? Whereas whiteheads don't have a "opening" and does not oxidize to get the color.
So.....how exactly do deep embedded blackheads with that looks like skin (maybe dead skin, hardened sebum, etc...?) over it, get their color? I am wondering because I have them and I believe that the layer of skin over them is maybe just dead skin that is stuck due to the clogged pores, but I have always wondered how exactly the blackheads underneath oxidizes.
