Dermatologist Acne Scarring Solutions? Help!

I'm (hopefully) going to be referred to a dermatologist in a couple of days and was wondering if they do anything to help with acne scars? I have many pink/red/purple hyperpigmentation scars on my cheeks and was wondering if anyone knew if dermatologists help with that sort of thing?
Any answers greatly appreciated! ta x

mine gave me finacea to use for those but i havent used it much to be able to tell if it really works. where i go they dont offer much else to help with the red marks unfortunately but if your derm does other things such as peels and stuff they might have other solutions for you.
