Hi. I am currently taking the following:

Pantothenic Acid (B5)
Vitamin C
Acetyl-L-carnitine (when this bottle runs out I'll be switching to L-cysteine)
L-Methionine

The first two are water soluble. None of them say to take with food on their bottles. I've taken them all with and without food, and there are no surface side effects either way... ie: no upset stomach if I take them on an empty stomach. I want to take them all together, except C, that doesn't have to be with the others but it can be.

Here's the thing: I don't drink liquids within 2 hours on either side of eating food. And when I do, it's a "drink 3 glasses of water in 10 minutes" kind of thing. SO I have questions.

1. If I take the water soluble pills with food, they don't get any water. Do they NEED water to dissolve and be absorbed, or is it just that they "only" need water, as opposed to also needing fat like fat soluble vitamins? Will they be able to be absorbed even if I only have the small mouthful of water necessary to swallow them?
2. If I take any of these pills without food, it's going to be when I'm drinking massive amounts of water. I pee within half an hour. Will this mean I pee the vitamins and amino acids out without completely absorbing them?

Basically... is it better to take them with food and very little or no water, or to take them with lots of water and pee shortly after?

Am also taking b5 6g daily
I'm on week 6 so far everything good
Got 3 zits this week but I been eating junk.

Acne's pretty great, thanks. I've been eating a lot less healthy than I did before I started taking B5. And I only get a pimple or two a week, whereas I used to get half a dozen. I take anywhere from 4g - 10g a day. I'm hoping when the L-cysteine comes I can reduce the amount of B5. L-carnitine was supposed to do that, but nooope.

Anyone know anything about the original thread question? I've only been able to find that L-carnitine should be taken on an empty stomach, but that was on workout forums and I don't lift weights. And again, for me an empty stomach really means 2-3 glasses of water so I feel like I just pee it out within an hour.

Exister, I want to comment that if you are doing the 2 hr water thing because if my thread, I no longer do that. I now put b5 and l-cysteine powder in a water bottle, and drink it throughout the day. This way there is always coenzyme a in my bloodstream to absorb the access fats and prevent acne. It's much cheaper than pills also. I remain on paleo.
