Vitamin B5 Hairloss- Cured (Pictures)

1,486 posts in this topic

Not solely due to b5 but due to high cortisol and b5 added more fuel to the fire...I solved it with thiamine...Please dont take any other thing to reduce cortisol except thiamine as pantothenic acid interact with thiamine to regulate cortisol in a certain fashion which vitamin c or any other thing wont. vitamin c caused me to lose even more hair due to it depleting ceruloplasmin...I promise u this is the solution to ur problem, just give it a week and see...

as 4 u elessarax, if u have been taking vit c for a long time u need to start supplementing copper...taking grams of vit c is extremely harmful to ur hair, it ruined mine in my attempt to lower cortisol and i solved it with copper supplement 10 mg daily for a week and continue with thiamine in the same time...other people who are not on anything else will be the best indicator for how successful thiamine is 4 u(which im extremely hopeful of it being ur cure) so i urge u to start it...

Thanks for the info tw12.

I'm very scared of taking any supplements after what B5 did, so I will let the other guys see how they get on first.

Did taking this help regrow hair or just prevent any further loss?

Stop everything else except the thiamine...You are depleting ur ceruloplasmin with vitamin c and i will cause urself more hair loss...as for the others they are adaptogens and i found them to raise my cortisol even more...Stop everything except the b1, i dont know why ur doing this...this is very harmful...pantothenic acid depletes thiamine and this is why thiamine is ur only solution...how long have u been doing the c and others? stop them immediately

Alright I will stop everything and only take Thiamine. So I am supposed to take Thiamine for just 1 week? Or longer until it works? If it even will work.

Currently dont have any copper supplements, will try and eat copper rich foods. Or do you really recommend buying a copper supplement?

Maybe 1-1.5 months with the other supplements

Haha yeah I agree with the others, if this will work I will srsly paypal you a huge reward

Hair follicles never die, i see no reason why u wont regrow, u definitely will...A week on this dose is good but ofcourse u should continue if u are in an upward curve of improvement...How long have u been taking the vit c for as it will differ in the duration of copper supplementation...If not more than 2 weeks u can get a copper glycinate supplement, wont cost u more than 10 dollars if i remember correctly...Good luck fellows...

I just ordered some Vitamin B1 as well, 100mg pills.

I will wait and see how the other guys report back and then give it a go myself.

If this really helps, I'll name my child tw12. Ok not really but you get the drift.

I currently take iron supplements which contain Vitamin C because I am anemic and Vit C boosts iron absorption. I believe they contain 180mg

I also take 50mg Zinc daily and the Zinc pills contain copper as well. 500 micro

Can I take Biotin with B1? I read how you said it raised cortisol.

I have an appointment with a endocrinologist in 3 weeks and I'll definitely get my thyroid/adrenals/cortisol levels checked.

Tw12, how exactly does the Cortisol cause hair loss? Can you tell us a bit more about your hair loss?

Tw12, how exactly does the Cortisol cause hair loss? Can you tell us a bit more about your hair loss?

It is the adrenal glands who are making the cortisol, and when they produce to much cortisol over a long time you can develop adrenal fatigue which can interfere with the thyroid and create thyroid diseases like hypothyroid etc.

I'd suggest you to read about it on the internet, google: High cortisol / adrenal fatigue and thyroid connection.

This is taken from a website

"What is cortisol? In it’s normal function, cortisol helps us meet life’s challenges by converting proteins into energy, releasing glycogen and counteracting inflammation. For a short time, that’s okay. But at sustained high levels, cortisol gradually tears your body down. Cortisol is one essential we can’t live without. But too much of a good thing is not healthy.

Sustained high cortisol levels destroy healthy muscle and bone, slow down healing and normal cell regeneration, co-opt biochemicals needed to make other vital hormones, impair digestion, metabolism and mental function, interfere with healthy endocrine function; and weaken your immune system.

Adrenal fatigue may be a factor in many related conditions, including fibromyalgia, hypothyroidism, chronic fatigue syndrome, arthritis, premature menopause and others. It may also produce a host of other unpleasant symptoms, from acne to hair loss. The really good news is that is easily treatable."

As you can see, prolonged high-cortisol can cause some serious damage on your body.

I've tried both and did not have success.

PJJordan, can you clarify this response saying dut didn't work for you (post 423/424), because in post 365 you said

"I am still taking Avodart and applying Rogain 2x per day which has helped me to regrow hair slowly but surely"

Did all the regrowth hair fall out, did you get sides, what happened?

Update- I dumped the promox, I forgot minox messes up my face. I am going to try propecia again, this thread is two years old and no solution. For those who don't want to, there is something called s5 cream that a lot of bodybuilder use, that might work. Still using nirozal, it helps but doesn't stop hair loss

Not willing to megadose with more vitamins/minerals, hope it works for you guys.

Blue, that might of been the other itsover, I never tried b1. I am going to take propecia, not adovart. I'm curious though why adovart all of a sudden stopped working for pj.

I've tried both and did not have success.

Just to clearify. One year ago I tried b1 but only 5 mg/day and combined with other vitamines. So that dosent mean this will not work.

Yeh sorry think I was getting confused didn't realise there was 2 itsovers haha, anyway just started the b1 today going to start with 100mg as that's over 8000% over the RDA so going to see how my body reacts to it. I'll keep updating guys

If anyone's got a doctors appointment soon it would be a really good time to get cortisol, adrenals, thyroid, testosterone and dht levels checked, I know a lot of people on here think dht has a role to play in this but I think someone else on here said fin and adovart had no effect, which would mabe rule out dht. Only tests are going to get results. As soon as I'm free from work I'm going to book an appointment.

So far day 3 on vitamin b1 at 100mg still shedding:(

But both high and low cortisol can cause hairloss so we need levels checked.

U need to raise the dose...trust me on this...i swear i took up to 1500 mg daily and hospitals treat up to 3000 daily in metabolic defects, i told u 300 to be safe...100 mg is v low...ur on ur third day, this means u have been only taking it for 2 days and under dosing...most of these doses are recovered in urine so u need to space them out over the day...continue and have belief and btw a guy back on this thread tested his cortisol and it was high...i would even raise the dose even above 300 daily if i was...

Ok so how long do we take it for at that dose then? How long before the cortisol becomes too low? Are you still shedding hair? Also how did you realize you had high cortisol what effects did you notice?

My sleep pattern was shit, i was shedding hair, high reaction to sugar due to high cortisol...Pantothenic acid promotes insulin resistance "Deficiency in pantothenic acid can also cause hypoglycemia, or an increased sensitivity to Insulin receptors are acylated with palmitic acid when they do not want to bind with insulin. Therefore, more insulin will bind to receptors when acylation decreases, causing hypoglycemia." U overdosed on panthoneic acid and caused insulin resistance which increases blood glucose levels along with raising cortisol...Thiamine does the exact opposite...The below study shows how blood thiamine levels respond to supplementation, open it and see...

Can I ask how you know all this, where you told be a doctor or is it just research? Is your hair still shedding and are you still taking the b1?

I stopped the b1 when i solved the cortisol and insulin resistance...I know all this from research, i have found that doctors know very very little about basic nutrient interactions and they have been teached how to react to conditions through man made alternatives and not natural vitamins and minerals so u never get cured, but treated instead......Iv been resarching for years now as i have a metabolic condition which is now coming to an end now...I can cure all of you from acne, using natural means ofcourse, by curing i mean CURING not treating but let us first fix this hair loss...My hair loss will never stop as its androgenic but im seeing regrowth from previous sheds...

Okay, today I have been taking 300 mg/day Vitamin b1 for 1 week.

Im gonna start from beginning, explaining my situation. Took Vitamin b5 15-20 g a day for 2 years I think. 6 months ago I started shedding, thats maybe 4-7 months after quitting b5, not really sure. My scalp itched really bad, flaking etcetc. Doctor told me I might have seb.dermatitis. I started searching internet for hours about my symptoms and I found this site 5 months ago, and I realized this might be the problem. It feels like I tried everything to cure this, lots of different vitamins/minerals, oils/schampos, corticosterioids etc.

3 weeks ago I shaved my hair down to 1mm, looked like I was bald, I have hair but so thin now.

Now my hair is maybe 3cm, and when I pull my hair, not a single strand of hair comes out. I can pull really hard but it doesnt shed. 1-2 months ago when I had same length hair I could easily pull out my hair, all over my head.

I dont even know if I suffer from B5 hairloss or if its something else that caused the dermatitis and shed.

I also don't know if Vitamin B1 is the cause that I dont shed hair at the moment but it does seems positive, since im not shedding atm. I actually think I have slept better since starting B1 too. Now, all I can do is hope that this actually works and I dont start to shed again and get some regrowth/thicken up my hair.

Now my question to tw12. Do you think I should up my b1 dosage? I am willing to do anything you say, what you think is best. I can be your and everyone else here personal guinea pig. I suffered so much from this bullshit that I am willing to do anything that "might" cure this, I don't care if it can do any harm to me.
