So 6 days ago i had an under the skin cyst on my smile line which already had a scar and I got so frustrated because it turned purple and it got big and I couldn't stand looking in the mirror.Today I decided to pop it with a tissue and some blood came out. I tried pushing hard but I got scared so now I have a choice to either use a needle and destroy that bastard or or be miserable and wait a few weeks. It is so embarrassing I am just waiting for December 21. Nothing makes me happy, everything is going down the drain and nobody understands me. I got scars, dark marks all over my face and now I am dealing with this shit. I need help ASAP please respond or message me please i am really stressed out.

Are you on Accutane? If you do have cystic acne, now would be a good time to go on it.

Don't panic -- there are scar treatments out there. Chemical peels, fillers, prescription retinoids, subsicion/excision, dermal grafting, laser resurfacing -- it's kind of hard for an acne scar to be permanent nowadays. The Fraxel Re:Pair is probably the best acne scar treatment around, followed by Fraxel Re:Store. Acne scars become difficult to treat if the scars start interconnecting.

Scar treatments, depending what they are and the procedures used, can improve scarring by 70% to 90%, sometimes a bit better.

Just hang in there and don't give up hope!

Just hang in there and don't give up hope! No, unfortunately I have no insurance but accutane has some harsh side effects that I am afraid as i am already predisposed to anxiety and depression. Yes I do have hope because i am 21 and still have plenty of collagen but a lot of those procedures that you mentioned cannot be performed on me because I have a type four slin light brown and laser may post a huge risk with my skin type.

There are a few treatments you can still do with darker skin types. Fraxel Re:store (non-ablative laser) is often used on darker skin types and at lower settings.This is usually combined with retinoids.

Have you looked for a dermatologist that has commonly treated darker skin types in your area?

i can feel your pain as i have been dealing with cystic acne breakouts lately myself. please dont pick anymore at the cyst. leave it alone and try to ice it every few hours. you can take some aleve or ibuprofen to help with the inflammation too. can you get a cortisone shot? i get them done a lot and i know that if i call in the morning many times the derm can squeeze me in or they put me on their cancellation list and call me as soon as somebody cancels. i know its hard but try to hang in there. i have been super stressed myself and there are many days where i feel like i just cant do this anymore but i just try to get through it the best i can. i have to believe that things will get better and one day we wont be suffering anymore. take care and pm me if you need to talk.

Thanks for the advice! I am just gonna have to deal with this the best that I can but I am not sure if what what I have is a cyst or a nodule? Is hard to tell.

you are so welcome! i only had one nodule and i can tell you the reason i knew it was a nodule is because it was hard and about the size of a pea. it took months to go away which was annoying but you really couldnt see it. yes show me some pics but if you feel it you will know if it is a cyst or a nodule.
