They should both give similar results though.

Yea, I'll probably end up posting before and afters. I kinda regret not doing it for my subcision treatments because I know how helpful these forums are to people that are looking at potential treatments. Myself, like I'm sure a lot of people on here, was encouraged by MrMatt's results with subcision so I decided to go get it done myself and couldn't have been happier. I'm pretty happy with my scars as they are right now but the pursuit of perfection + spare money = more treatment...lol.
Yea, I've already scheduled 2 weeks off from work just in case. My doc said my face would look pretty bad immediately after treatment but it'll look significantly better 5-10 days out with the redness similar to a mild sunburn.I don't know about the less downtime if both lasers are being used to their full potential. You certainly aren't going to want to be wandering around in public for several days after your Mixto treatment.
They should both give similar results though.

Just to update what all has happened. Yesterday I went to my derm to have the Mixto done. The staff was ultra nice and all the pre-laser stuff went on without a hitch. A nurse sat me down and informed me about all the pre-laser/post-laser stuff then she proceded to throw a hospital gown/cap on me and started applying a numbing gel to my face. A few minutes later my derm came in and asked me if I had any additional questions, went over a consent form with me and they both left so that the numbing cream would have an adequate amount of time to do it's job. About 15 minutes later the nurse came back in and asked me to move to the room where the laser was. I laid down on this chair and she went and got me various medicines ( like 5 or 6 ) to take, among them were ( Valium, Percocet, an antibiotic, an anti-convulsant? and a few other things, not really sure what. After that she prepared the laser and the doctor came in and told me that we were about to begin...
I single this part out just to say that this had to be THE MOST PAINFUL EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! I'm not sure if the numbing cream/numbing shots they gave me were working, all I know is I was in severe pain for about 15-30 minutes. My hair line and jaw line hurt the most because I'm thinking that they didn't have any numbing cream on them at all. My body was shaking through most of the procedure, I'm guessing it was due to the trauma to my face. I asked them why and they said it was the medicine that they had given me. After the procedure was over they helped me out of the room ( I was pretty drunk from the all the medicine ) and led me to my mom which was horrified. She said she was fighting back the tears because she wasn't prepared for how bad I looked...and neither was I. They gave me some ice packs ( which was burning pretty intensely for hours after the procedure ), gave my mom some various creams and medicine and we were on our way home. I slept about the whole way their and throughout the first night...
Day 1 After Mixto:
I awake to wash my face and re apply some aquaphor only to realize that I can barely recognize myself. The only way to describe it is I look like some type of horribly burnt chipmunk. My skin has crusted over pretty bad and my eyes are swollen like I've been a few rounds with Mike Tyson. I've been taken pictures but I don't want to post anything til I see some type of result. Right now I'm pretty discouraged about how I look and can barely even look in the mirror much less put a pic on here. I'll definitely keep you guys updated though.

No pain no gain
- hope it turns out well for you.
If you don't mind me asking - what type of scars do you generally have? How much approx % wise did the subcisions help?

I'd say 95% of my scars were rolling scars. The reason I did the laser was was mainly for better skin texture and to smooth out the scars that my previous subcisions corrected.
...And I'd say I had around an 80+% improvement from the two previous subcisions that I had. I was going to get another round this time but the doc wanted to see how my face responded to the laser first. He's thinking that the laser might be enough to get the results I want to see but if not that he'd do the subcision free of charge after my face is healed.
