My Infini Treatment For My Acne Scarring

68 posts in this topic

HI templeofdoom

I think Infini is more of an anti ageing solution, enerjet is a better option, however we all have different skin types so its impossible to tell if it works or not...... Its a expense of trailing these options which kills me, I have a wife and 2 yr old daughter to provide for which isn't cheap so £500 I need to think wisely about each treatment as £500 (average) a time adds up!! It really annoys me when I don't see results as that's money I can spend on my family.......

Regarding the comments we receive........ I actually never speak about my scars with my wife, I have a real complex about it and this website gives me some solitude to discuss with others who all suffer with the same issues.......

I'd love to go through a really intense course of 2-3 treatments where I can improve my skin condition however I just can't spend the money all at once and I can't take 2 weeks out of work as I'm self employed. Hopefully some day there will be a treatment which will help us all, however Enerjet, Laser and/or Filler is the best options for now.

I completely understand the issue of cost. £500 is a lot of money for me at the moment too, if there were guaranteed serious improvements it wouldn't be as much of a stress. The changes I've seen so far don't merit the £1000 I've paid if I'm honest.

It's a difficult topic to discuss with people who don't understand, I've recently been talking about it more when I've had a few beers with friends. It's actually quite therapeutic to let it out, most of my mates completely understand.

Hi guys

I don't know if I am posting this too late as the last post was some time ago but I've recently just been made aware of Enerjet and I am contemplating it. I've been reading into different scar treatments for YEARS and just as I seem to decide to go with something...my acne flares up :(

My skin has been good recently and I really want to take the plunge. I am of South Asian origin (Bangladeshi) and I would say my skin tone is medium, I have a combination of ice pick and boxcar scars and from my understanding, I need to find a way to remove the tethering that is holding these scars down and then find a way to build enough collagen to soften them...and then hopefully some sort of surface treatment like a peel or something to get best results.

I originally wanted to do needling and have bought the device from own doc, its called the derminator, however their site does mention that some deep scars may need to be released in some form of subcision for best results. I only found 2 places in London that seem to do subcision treatments (I really expected more for such a simple treatment!!!) and called both of them up. The second clinic is the Viva clinic and when I inquired about subcision, the receptionist mentioned enerjet. I've googled it and it does seem to offer some from of subcision effect as the hyaluronic acid seems to lift the tethering from what I can gather from the pictures and also the hyaluronic acid really softens and fills some scars nicely.

Am I wrong? If this happens and my body's own natural collagen then takes over and keeps the scars elevated then this would be great and after some months I would be happy to start needling to boost the collagen. My concern is whether this lift will be permanent as it says 'long lasting' but it does not mention it being permanent...so does this mean the scars will become tethered again after a certain period of time? The recommendation is to get at least 3 treatments which are £500 each so I am looking at £1500.

There is also another system I've seen which is Picosure with Focus Lens Array...which seems to be attractive in the sense that there doesn't seem to be a significant downtime as there are with other lasers...but Dr Tapan's clinic doesn't offer this...however I might mention it to him to get his thoughts...I'd be happy to be his guinea pig if he wants to trial it!! My concern again is that it is so new and I can't seem to find too many reviews or pictures about its effectiveness on actual scars apart from their publicity ones. It costs around £200 per treatment and from what I've gathered, I will need something between 4-8 to get noticeable effect. That's between £800-£1600.

So what should I go with??? Options 2 and 3 are expensive...but if they work it will be worth the price...but do I risk it or are they too good to be true?

Subcision with needling afterwards

Enerjet

Picosure FLA

Any thoughts, stories and suggestion would be more than welcome.

I would definitely recommend ENERJET. My first Enerjet treatment made a real noticeable difference. I think I'm going to get another Enerjet treatment in a few weeks.

It's not painful at all and there is only really a few days downtime. It made my scarring look less angry.

Thank you for your suggestion. I had my appointment with Dr Patel and he recommended Inifini instead. He said that Enerjet works better on rolling scars than the ones I have (ice pick and box scars). This Infini procedure is supposed to be like a micro-needling with radio frequency which can boost collagen significantly. He advised me that for maximum effectiveness, I try 3 of these treatment about 4-6 weeks apart and then do 2 sets of CO2 lasers spaced a few months apart.

I mentioned my concern about laser on ethnic skin but he said he would be able to manage it due to my particular skin tone. I am inclined to trust him since he is of South Asian origin too- so I assume he knows what he is talking about

Anyway, I have scheduled my first Infini for the end of April where I have some time off, I will keep you updated. I will try to take some pictures before and after my treatment (hopefully in the same light for consistency) so you all can see the progress...or the lack of :(

Wish me luck!!

Hi girlinhiding,

Did you receive your first stage of Infini treatment yet? Interested to hear your thoughts on how it went..... I has mixed feelings about my Infini treatment, however everyone's skin is different.

Hi Mooneboy,

I had my first Infini treatment in April 21st, I have started noticing little micro dots (needle indents) on my skin, I was wondering if this happened to you?

I am getting my treatment at the PHI clinic. I am starting to feel abit anxious about the whole thing now. I have a appointment with them to look at them and Jodi told me that the scarring will go. At the moment I have no faith or trust in these clinics as I had a horrible experience before at another clinic.

There is not alot of information available on this treatment so it is quite annoying.

@MsBubbleTea Sorry for the late reply, I'm not a frequent user on this website, I hope your skin has since improved after the Infini treatment. The micro dots might be caused from bruising and/or scabs, my skin was extremely red with red dots after having Infini however the downtime wasn't too bad. I still don't think Infini is going to be the solution to improve your skin condition...... Laser or Enerjet was my preferred choice, while Infini initially had impressive results, after the swelling and redness faded my scars reappeared (there was a slight improvement).

Well, after lots of research online (mainly YouTube) this week I've decided to take on my own home treatment of Dermarolling. I just can't justify paying £500 per session with no guarantee of improvement, considering I never receive a courtesy call from PHI to see how I recovered and never received a reply to my email for more treatment!!! Customer loyalty (patient of 3 yrs) clearly on the decline. I'm also buying a house so I'd rather spend the money on giving my wife and kids a finished house as I've lived with my scars for half my life (hard to sallow that one!) another year of scarred skin isn't going to change my life.

I purchased a Derma Roller (540 Needles Micro Needle - 1.5mm) and Hyaluronic Acid Serum via AMAZON this week. I gave my cheeks an intensive course of rolling (without numbing cream) on Thursday night and it certainly isn't pleasant to begin with however the pain slowly becomes passable. Once the blood starts to appear you feel a sense of achievement as the 1.5mm needles are pretty deep and seem to penetrate the scars. When finished I applied the Hyaluronic Acid Serum into the treated area as it's claimed to boost collagen production.

Tonight, I just finished my temples, nose and forehead which again was pretty painful however I wasn't using numbing cream and I'm so determined to improve my skin so I just go into an autopilot mode and really go for it! I was recommended to allow the treated areas to heel for 3-4 weeks before reapplying the Derma Roller again. The temples are still stingy as the skin is more tender and I used a roller with 1.5mm needles which isn't recommended.

I'll keep you updated on any further developments and will hopefully have a post in 4 weeks describing positive results.... Considering I spent £20 for the Dermaroller and Hyaluronic Acid it's worth a shot, even if I can improve my skin by 50%, I'll save thousands and can use that money for a family holiday (which is very well deserved). So many suffers like us all have uploaded video's discussing their results and showing tutorials with very impressive results........ Highly recommended viewing Ashley James on YouTube - he's quite entertaining too!! https://www.youtube.com/user/ashdog236

To be continued.......................

Hi

I used the following which I purchased from AMAZON, (total of £20) - see below:

MelodySusie 540 Needles Derma Roller (1.5mm)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00OCEJYSY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00

OZ Naturals - THE BEST Hyaluronic Acid Serum

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00C7DYBX0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00

P.S. I'm flaking today....... similar to the downtime (on day 3) after laser treatment however I really battered my checks this time and there was blood..... 1.5 mm is pretty deep, so I'm waiting for an improvement later this week..... if not I'll just have to wait for another 3 weeks to allow time for the penetrated area to heal and give it another go.

Hi, sorry for the late reply, I have been busy.

I went to see Dr Patel last week and they are compensating me with a course of 3 Co2 laser for £1200, I brought a package of Infini, I still have micro dot track marks from it but I would say about 90% of it has faded.

I left them a bad review on trustpilot and I can ensure you they weren't pleased so they called me up to compensate me, I will not be removing my review from there but will be admending it to whatever that has happened with them so far.

I think you should give that a go (bad review on trustpilot), they will definitely respond, they are very iffy on bad reviews, they care alot about their rep.

Would you be able to tell me did you think there were any bad side effects from the co2 laser treatment and what did you think of PHI clinic. My co2 is in October, I still have time to back away. Dr Patel shall be performing my co2 and see me for followups.

I am very scared of the bad side effects that I have read up online so far. Dr patel said he shall do the co2 on the lighter settings so I can see how my skin reacts to it, it doesn't make me less nervous though.

I apologise for not responding to any questions, I kept on meaning to update my results but just didn't get around to it, so many apologies especially to Moonboy and MsBubbleTea as I didn't answer your questions at the time they were asked.

So I was recommended to have 3 treatments of Infini followed by 2 x Co2 Laser treatments.

The Infini treatments (spaced 6 weeks apart for each treatment) provided some mild improvement- as in general my scars look a tad shallower, however it was not as dramatic as I wanted it to but i was told that improvements carry on for roughly a year so maybe it will carry on improving...hopefully...

The one thing I definitely did notice was that my complection has become clearer- however i don't know what to attribute it to as I have started to also use retin a 0.025% and a homemade vitamic c serum which I ordered from owndoc's website.

I had grand plans of accurately documenting my journey but coupled with a phone camera and alternating weather affecting the lighting/glare, I'm afraid its not as clear as i wanted...however I did ask the clinic whether I could get access to my clinical photos and the aesthetician said there was a possibility, so fingers crossed for some good ones in the future. In the meantime, I've included what I have on my phone.

I didn't get to post the pictures above properly so continuing on FYI, the first 2 are of both cheeks before any treatment, (wish these picture was more clear) the second 2 pictures are a day after the Infini treatment and the last 2 are 6 weeks after my 3rd Infini. Like I said, the difference seems to be quite minimal, but I have noticed the micro dots, but hoping those go away in time

I now wanted to show you my face after the the Total FX treatment- WARNING! it is very graphic. It was done with just the numbing cream, and I now wish that they had given me local injections or something because towards the end it hurt so bad!
