My Physcian Said "antibiotics Won't Work For My Acne."

I was wondering what does she mean it will not work? Does antibiotics only work for certain type of acne? I have inflamed moderate to severe acne.... All she gave me was some rentin-a.. But I would have liked some antibiotics to control my initial break out from the retin-a.. Maybe I should check out another doctor? Does she know what she is doing?

Seek advice from the nutrition section of this forum, you don't need antibiotics.

hmm.. thats weird since antibiotics are usually one of the first things derms prescribe. I think inflamed acne would benefit a lot from antibiotics such as minocycline since they have anti inflamitory properties. Maybe you could go to a different doc. Just make sure you take a good probiotic as well :)
