I can't find any AHA lotion in pharmacies in my country. Only thing with AHA I can find is Neutrogena AHA+BHA cleanser (no percentages either) for the face. Can I use that for my back/chest acne? Thanks for any help.

I think the problem with this (otherwise, probably great) regimen for backne is that you HAVE to wear all WHITE. This is quite hard for people who are often wearing sports jerseys, uniforms, etc. etc. The BP I put on my face already slightly fades the collar of non-white shirts I wear and I don't even put it on my neck! It must just "run" a little.

I don't understand how people could wear all white shirts (they would really have to be ALL white) for years. And, if you had to throw another shirt on for some reason it isn't like you can wash away the BP - there will still be some left to bleach out whatever color you are wearing.

This is the only reason I haven't tried this regimen for my bacne. The regimen has worked WONDERS on my face (I am pretty much acne free now) but my back is still TERRIBLE.

So, I was wondering if there is another solution that is as potent and strong as the BP that doesn't bleach clothing. This would be perfect.

Any ideas?

if your a boy you could just wear an undershirt under everything. if your a girl i have no ideas sorry.

anything you can use on your face you can pretty much use on your body. cuz your face is a sensitive area. so im sure it can go on your back if it was intended to be used on the face.

I do the Regime for my body acne, and I'm now clear!!!! eusa_dance.gif I normally break out on my chest, entire back, shoulders, and upper arms(seriously like half my body). Also my face and neck but I've already gotten those clear. Anyway, so I definitly didn't have mild acne. However I noticed that the first time I started the Regime, it didn't seem to notice much results, I had too much active acne plus I wasn't moisturizing cause I was paranoid it would make me break out.

This time around, I started off just using a gentle non-creamy body wash(I like Aveeno Unscented and Jason's Aloe), and just Paula's 2% BHA Lotion, this helped clear up some of my acne. After awhile of doing this, I started using Dan's CSR gel too, and putting the BHA ontop of it(yes I know he recommends AHA, but this lotion works much better for my skin, less irritation). Then after a bit when my skin started getting into that irritated/dry/itchy phase of the regime, I stopped using the BHA and started using Cetaphil daily moisturizer. Now I just use that, and my skin is clear!! The reason I first used the BHA is cause in order to initially clear it, I needed more then just bp, but I didn't want to just start using both at once cause I figured that would be too irritating. Plus bp has a tendency to sometimes make red marks where it clears zits, so I wanted my skin to be as clear as possible before using. Anyway, it worked cause now I just have to use the bp and I'm all set smile.gif

I also only do it at night, I tried during the day but it bleached a couple shirts. So I just wear a white tshirt to bed and I'm fine, it's completely sunken in by the next morning so it never stains my clothes for the next day. I would really recommend this regime to anyone wanting to clear their acne! But remember it takes a few months to see results, not like 2 days!!

I just started the regimen last week. So far so good.

I would put my body acne somewhere in between mild/moderate and moderate/severe. So I was thinking...

Would it still be effective to do the regimen as Dan lays out, but minus the BP treatment in the morning? I just don't really want to be wearing BP all the time when I don't have to.

So it would be;

Morning

Short, cold shower, cleanse with Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser.
Gently dry, wait 10-15, apply Dan's AHA+

Night

Short, cold shower, cleanse with Cetaphil Oily Skin Cleanser
Gently dry, wait 10-15, apply Dan's BP
Wait another 10-15, apply Dan's AHA+

What do you all think???

WELL IT TOOK ME 3 MONTHS FOR ME TO HAVE THE PERFECT CLEAR SKIN I NOW HAVE. iN MY OPINION U HAVE TO FIND WHAT WORKS FOR YOU. mY SKIN CAME TO A POINT WHERE IT WAS PRETTY DRY AND FLAKY SO I REDUCED IT TO ONLY AT NIGHT TIME BUT THEN AS A LITTLE BIT CAME BACK I WENT BACK TO 2 TIMES A DAY. I PRETTY MUCH KNOW NOW WHEN MY SKIN MAY FLAKE A LITTLE SO I REDUCE IT TO 1 TIME A DAY AND 3 DAYS LATER I GO BACK TO 2 TIMES A DAY. SO I KNOW HOW TO PLAY with it. dont worry cause in time youll find what works for you

Hi all, I'm new but i've been reading these forums for awhile and have come up with my own regime. I have clear skin on my face, but my chest and back is a whole 'nother story. I have what i guess you cal light to moderate. I consider myself lucky but to me, all acne is embarrassing. I've begun my own regime, as I've said before, and my back is clearer than it has been in a long time.

My skin is naturally sensitive, dry, and oily, all at the same time, so I have to be careful about my products. I'm also allergic to salycylic acid (sorry if i spelled that wrong..). It gives me rashes and makes my skin peel.

Sooo here's my regime. Hopefully it'll help.

Products:
-Dial Antibacterial Body Wash (spring water scent. It smells good. smile.gif )
-2.5% BP - Neutrogena Spot something or other.
-A clay mask with Alpha Beta Hydroxy (ABH) complex
-Equate Daily Renewal Cleanser (for face)
-Face wash/Mask (Can't remember if it's clean & clear or neutrogena..it's in a white bottle) with 3.5% BP

Mornings:
Wash affected skin with Equate face wash. Pat dry. (Since the Face wash/Mask product can only be used 2 to 3 times a week due to the BP, you'll have to tailor the schedule due to what amount of BP your skin can handle.) On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, I apply the Face wash/Mask for the recommended amount of time as a mask to the affected areas across my back, arms, and chest (5 minutes). After, I gently remove with a damp washcloth. I let that dry, and then apply a whole bunch of 2.5% BP.
On Sundays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, I don't apply a mask, and just go straight to the 2.5% BP.

Nights:
Take another shower and wash skin with the Dial Antibacterial body wash this time. You can either use a shower scrunchie thing or your hands; i switch it up every day. Pat dry. Apply the clay mask with the Alpha Beta Hydroxy complex to affected areas. This will take around 15 to 20 minutes. Remove with a warm, damp washcloth, apply 2.5% BP again, and possibly apply lotion if needed.

I really hope my regime can help others. It does seem like a lot of BP but it shouldn't stain unless you don't let it dry completely or you sweat on your back. I recommend for the ladies in order to save your hair from damage from all the washing or if you can't get your hair wet but need to take a shower to invest in a shower cap. Since I usually wash my hair at night, I wear a shower cap in the morning so to save time on doing my hair.

I also recommend to drink A LOT of water. It does help. So does sleeping in loose t-shirts and not picking at the affected areas, of course.

If you decide to try my regime, please let me know of your progress. I'll be updating too.

Good luck to everyone and get ready for summer!!

Tan.

I know tanning beds are harmful, but I used to have moderate/bad acne because while being a bodybuilder, I've taken Somatropin, Anavar, and dbol.

When you tan, it dries up your back quickly and the darker you get the less visable any marks/scar are.

Hi Guys,

Im a 22 male only suffer from acne on my mid to upper back and on my upper arms/shoulders! I've been washing with Murad acne body wash for a few months but never applied a cream..

Now im taking Skin B5 Acne Control Advanced Time Release Tablets X 180 ( 2 morning breakfast and 2 night dinner)

Wash with Murad acne body wash(once a day) sometimes twice if i go to gym

Apply brevoxyl-4 once dried after shower(once a day) sometimes twice if i go to gym

Touch wood looks like going fine but i don't apply a moisturizer? Should i? What are the affects of not applying moisturizer. My theory is this part of my body is releasing more oil so i would be making it worse?

Am i doing something wrong?

The other thing is how do i overcome the blemishes from old pimples?

Cheers

John

I tried using Murad for a while, It never worked for me...

I've been using the regimen on my face now for about 3 weeks and it's been working great. I was thinking the same as many other here, use the BP on my back before bed and sleep in a white tshirt to protect my daytime clothes - I work at a daycare, so I have to wear the coloured shirts with my name on - no plain white for me!

I'll post again on how this works for me!

Same thing worked for me. When I used to get tan the one thing that would clear up easily is my upper back. It makes the skin less oily, which means less chances of your clothes rubbing the oil everywhere on your back or pushing it back in the skin, etc. I'm gonna try to wear different tank tops every day and go back to the tanning salon soon.

Hi there,
I am new to the forum although I have been using Dan's bacne regimine for about 3 weeks. I have always had winter bacne, strange that it seems to clear in the summer (or when I go tanning). Anyway, I think the key with the bacne regimine is the AHA. I have tried to moisturize after the BP gel with regular moisturizer but this doesnt seem to work. Too oily. So, my current plan is: wash with Basis soap, Neutrogena 2.5% all over the back followed by Vaseline's Healthy Body Complexion AHA lotion. (I already had this lotion which I needed to use anyway.)

So, what do you think about my regimine?

Also, I have a derm appt. next week to explore "new" options, but I refuse to take anything internal because I may be trying to get pregnant in the next year. Any suggestions?

TIA for responses. smile.gif

Lily

Hi Lily, is it really effective? Would it be ok for a teenager (17 yreas old) to use this kind of product? Thanks. eusa_angel.gif

My acne started on my back when I was about 11 years old. My mom took me to a dermatologist and they did "Dry Ice Treatments" on my back. I am 32 years old now and I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH ACNE ON MY BACK again.

After that I started getting it on my face and never did the dry ice treatments on my face although now I wish I could find a derm who does that. I did do Accutane for 6 months for my face about 6 years ago.

But I swear by the "Dry Ice Treatments" if you can find a dermatologist who does them. I was getting mine done in Rancho Cucumonga California. I didn't understand what they were doing when I was that young, but I now realize my back has never had acne again except for an occasional pimple. I didn't realize then that it would save my back.
