Hey all,

So I'm wondering what your experience is with Cerave Moisturizer. My dermatologist recommended that I use it, but I am somewhat skeptical that it's been making me breakout. It is the type that you have to reach in and scoop some out, a plastic jar, so I'm also concerned that there's a bunch of little acne bacteria festering in there, causing me more breakouts everytime I use it.

I'm not sure if it's just in my head or what. Does anyone have any experience with this?

You can get it in a pump bottle if the jar bothers you. I believe the jar version is more meant for moisturizing your whole body. The face version is in a pump bottle.

CeraVe is specifically designed for acne patients. It used to be prescription only.

I lovelovelove CeraVe. I use the night cream day and night (provided I am not going outside) and I use their facewash as well. Wonderful products!

Green Gables is right though, the jar is for your body. There are special products for the face that you can find at CVS. Look for CeraVe AM and PM. But don't throw away that jar! Use it for everything else, it's a good product!

Yes, the jar version is meant for your body I'm pretty sure. I have both the AM and PM versions with the pump. I LOVE CeraVe moisturizer. It is definitely something I will continue to use for years and years to come because my skin is just not happy anymore without it. It gets dry, dull and patchy if I don't use CeraVe every day and night. I also love that the AM version has SPF 30. They definitely have never broken me out.
