I have had this problem for almost ten years and I don't know what I can do to get rid of.

As you can see in the pics my whole back is covered with brown marks. Many of what you see aren't even pimples. There is still some pimples but not as bad as it was a few years ago.

On the second pic there are horizontal lines on my mid lower back but I think that is just from laying down or something...

Many of the areas have the same feel as anywhere else on my body but other sections have a somewhat bumpy texture to it (crater looking scars I believe?).

What is there that I can do to get rid of this crap? I don't care about the craters that much right now I just dont want my skin to covered in brown/red marks or blemishes.

I am in my eary 20's and this is possible the worst thing I can have. Can't go to beaches, or really be that sexual with girls because no one wants to see that nasty back of mine.

My face and chest dont really have any problems as that has just disappeared. I only get a few occassional pimples on my face but that only happens due to shaving.

Also I think it looks worse in person as I couldnt really focus the camera at weird angles.

In my opinion, that looks fungal. Been to a derm yet? There are a lot of options for natural treatments as far as fungal goes.

The brown marks just looks like you have a lot of freckles/moles. I would go to the derm and get a skin scraping, though, when moles get into irregular shapes they can be cancerous.

I don't think they are moles or freckles. No one in my family has freckles and it isnt very common in my race.

Know any good derms in San Jose? I feel wayyyy too embarrassed to go so I want the best one...

To lighten the dark marks you should use a aha lotion or cream. I use a mixture of fruit fresh( ascorbic acid) and glycerin for my dark marks and large pimples. It works great!

You can also try some Epsom salt baths. That could help out with the irritation and active acne. Epsom salt works great on body acne.

Hmm I might buy the regime package thing they have here/amazon. Cleaner/BP/AHA. You think that stuff would greatly help?

Yes it could help :) I just think its good to start off with more affordable solutions to acne. If they don't work then you go to a doctor.

The regimen might make your back purge. I've never used bp on my body before. I've used a sulfur soap that works really good. It's called Grisi sulfur soap. You can get it at CVS and Target. It smells kinda funky but the scent doesn't stay on your skin.

Oh and don't let your acne ruin your love life! Someone who really likes you won't care what's on your back. I understand how you feel though. Acne sucks but don't let it hold you back!

That look like keratosis pilaris to me, which is not acne. Most of the pictures if you search for it will show that it's red, but it is sometimes brown in certain people.
