So in short, I have a bunch of litte whiteheads on my face I have
-Water
-Nivea gentle cleanser
and nothing else. I refuse to use things tested on animals, unless I'm at my wits end and I need clean and clear and my mom will tell me I have perfect skin and I'll ruin my face if I use something "harsh" like benzoyl peroxide! And I tried changing my diet, no improvement. I Would swipe some noncomedogenic mineral make-up but I'm not allowed but I'm going to try to persuade my mom again. Help!

Just tossing this out there..... Dan does not do animal testing on his products and there are no animal derived ingredients.
There is nothing inherently more "harsh" about 2.5% benzoyl peroxide than any other acne medication, in my experience.

Tea tree oil works the best.

Tea tree oil could work, but it's definitely not "the best" treatment, or most people would get clear. That's not the case (though there is some research, showing its effectiveness). If you're going for tto, make sure to use at least a 4% solution, to avoid bacterial resistance. Other options that have been mentioned on the boards: niacinamide gel, hemp oil, argan oil, manuka oil, sea buckthorn oil, etc. From my experience, though, BP works best (and it doesn't have to be irritating/"harsh" if you use it right),

I LOVE LOVE LOVE. Lavender oil for breakouts like these. Whiteheads only last a couple of days with twice daily treatment.

For those saying that they like tea tree oil, I've used it and saw no difference really, but it could work for you. By the way, benzoyl peroxide isn't that harsh if used properly.

Burt's Bees has some salicylic acid treatments that do not have animal-derived ingredients nor do any testing on animals. It is called Burt's Bees Acne Solutions.

You can use the Blemish Spot Treatment or the Clarifying Toner
Or you could get the whole 3-Step Cleansing & Repair Kit

These are available at Walgreens, and probably other stores like Target and Wal-Mart.
