This is something that has taken me a long time for me to realise: the ambient temperature affects my skin's oil production.
I've noticed that when I'm in a warm / hot environment for a long period (1 hour or longer), my skin produces more oil than normal. Conversely when I'm in a cold environment my skin produces less oil than normal.
This is obvious in 2 respects: the first is that I can actually see the change in oil on the skin surface after a period of time; the second is that my skin is in much better condition acne wise when I am in a cold environment for a prolonged period of time.
So of course I've recently been turning my house's heater down / off...

I have noticed the same thing you indicate. Now if we could just get mother nature to stop messing with the thermostat we would be all set, eh?

no, DHT is the only thing affecting oil production.
it just SEEMS as if your skin is more oil, probably cuz of the sweat\humidity in hot environment.
temp has nothing to do with oil production.

I've been wondering if drinking room temperature water makes skin more oily than cold water.
