Hi well this is my second topic on this forum but I thought seen as though I had started antibiotics yesterday, I might as well make a log from the start. I'll give some background information. When I was 14 I started getting really bad acne. I had mild cystic and tons of spots. Now I battled through it and actually went through the worst without using any treatments (well apart from clearasil which made the acne worse) I'm 17 now and about 7 weeks ago I started using sudocrem. My acne improved ten fold. I now have a lot of PIH and about 15-20 small spots on my face and neck. To shift this last few bits of acne I decided to seek my GP's advice. He gave me tetralysal 300 at 1 tablet per day. I'll update this for day 1 and 2 then every sunday or when I have a significant breakthrough!I would also like to point out that I'm diabetic and my skin takes longer than a healthy person's skin to heal and recover.

Regime per day

Shower x2
Baby soap x2
Tetralysal 300 x1
Duac once daily x1
aloe Vera gel x1

1st Sunday - I only have 2 spots and one new one today. Total gone from like 20 to 3. All I have now is fading PIH. I think it's a combination of my skin already getting ride of the acne naturally, the sudocrem and the new antibiotics. So happy

2nd sunday. Skin has been really red all week. I got a big whitehead on my top lip that burst and went really sore and a large papstules? red lump under the skin on the corner of my mouth. I got both of these about 5 days ago. The spot on my lip has gone and the big spot has gone down quite a lot. About 4 spots altogether now and the PIH is slowly fading.

Ok on sunday I had broken out again. This was only in the mouth area but it's pretty frustrating. It was my fault for getting no sleep and drinking too much. Anyway I went to a new doctor today as I needed to pick up my 28 days supply of antibiotics and he cut the crap and gave me two months worth straight off and prescribed Duac once daily with it. Has anyone else used this?

4th Sunday? This Duac has cleared the breakout I had pretty well. Back down to about 7 spots on my neck. This is the clearest my skin has been in years but the duac is making my face red at times.

tons of PIH atm. Not dark but just like a light red colour.

[5th sunday was missed! Thursday 5th week*. I started pigging out on awful food and fell back in to drinking tons of diet coke in the past week and my skin is awful this morning. I took pictures to show you how nasty it has gone. Not though my acne is a lot better than it was a year ago. A lot of those red marks are just PIH.

Thursday update - (those pictures were taken on a really bad day btw) My skin is clearing up more and more. I have one active whitehead on my cheek and one on forehead (first forehead spot in nearly a year) skin seems to be getting clearer each week. I have, as of today, started using 100% aloe vera gel to try and treat the PIH and red marks. I'll update with pictures when I feel substantial progress has been made. Plus I will use a better camera because the low pixel camera I used has just made it looks worse than it is!
