I had really bad cystic acne, and I did a pretty high dose (40, 60, 80, 80, 80). I took every last pill and wash my face twice a day and moisturize/spot treat. But, unfortunately, I don't have perfectly clear skin and it's really disappointing.
I asked my doc. about it about 2 months after my last pill, and he told me to wait 6 months before he decided to do anything. Currently, I have a pimple on the side of my nose, one on the other side as well, a small on on my chin & a small one in between my eyes.
It seems like it slowly is getting worse
I'm only a 16 year old guy, and I understand I'm a teenager, but it seems like accutane it supposed to clear you for good, which it never has for me.
In a month and a half, if I still have these few pimples and maybe more, do you think it would be appropriate to ask for a second course of accutane? I had so many side effects on it but it's worth it to me. The side effects I had were dry eyes/skin/nose, acheyness, and sometimes (I think two at max) darkened stools, which I talked to my doctor about and he said if they didn't stop then I should become worried. However, my body is completely back to it's pre-accutane state.
I just want my acne to go away, and with all of these so-called "80%" success rates, I feel like a fluke and I'm so disappointed
Do you think a second course will even make a difference?
Please help!! <3
