I've been drinking on and off while taking Accutane (compromised to only the weekends as opposed to every night before). One thing that I've always made sure is to not start drinking until at least two hours after my last pill. My blood tests are coming out okay, but I'm worried the alcohol could be inhibiting the positive affects of Accutane (not getting great results so far). One weird thing is I don't seem to have less tolerance like most people report, if anything it's more tolerance Posted Image .

What have you guys heard from doctors in this regard? Does it matter how long between taking the pill and starting to drink in the evening? Will alcohol inibit Accutate?

I was wondering the same thing. I have also been drinking while on accutane, and almost directly after taking the pill.
Although I'm still breaking out(on day 59 right now),I do notice the breakouts are in different places than they were before accutane.
So, I am in doubt, drinking might inhibit accutane to a certain point, but not that you won't see any progress.
This may also differ per person.
I do also feel like I tolerate alcohol better, which I find very weird!

I am almost done with my 3rd month and I've been drinking about twice a week th past 3 months, and have gotten pretty wasted quite a few times. I noticed I get drunk a little faster, but nothing too drastic. I also try to take my course in the morning (in one dose) if I'm going to be drinking that night. I've found that if I drink right after taking the pill I don't feel so hot. Could be psychological, but I figure why risk it seeing as I'm prescribed to take my full 60mg in ONE dose per day anyways...

My liver tests have been great so far so I'm gonna keep drinking during my course, but moderatly of course.... No weeklong benders at college for me this year lol.

I had two friends who took Accutane and drank the throughout their course, and still have perfect skin now.

However, when I drank on Accutane, I had the worst hangover the next day, my back pain was awful, and I had a dull internal ache coming from my kidneys, I was drowsy, felt sick, for about 2/3 days, it was awful - never again :|

I guess like all Accutane side effects, they vary massively from person to person.

I am on my 1st month and only on 20mg a day. I feel like I can drink more without getting drunk. BUT if I drink forget about sleeping that night. Very bad insomnia, never had those before.
