Hello Everyone,
I am glad to have found this forum where I can share my thoughts and get suggestions. I am new to the forum though. I still hope you will help me out and give me your best opinion. I am San from Pak. I had had severe acne breakouts and it was a kind of absud of me to pop my pus filled acne. I would do that daily after coming back from the school and my habit eventually made my acne problem worse and then worst for me. I started to develop acne at the age of 12. It was so early, so I didn't know how to use on the acne,. I consulted several docs and got treatment from time to time and noticed that my skin had a strong ablity of recovering. Whatever I applied would absorb easly into the skin and I got good results until I started poping up my acne. I still repend that time when I didn't have knowledge at all.................. Well, my acne problem was gettting worse for me and it was still there when I was 18..
Today, I am 28 and I have so many scars on my skin. I had three sessions of hydromicrodermabrasion and the doctor ensured me that after getting 13 sessions my skin would be cleared. though I wouldn't see all my scars disappear but all depressed and nasty scars would go away. I trusted him. My skin tone was better after the session and the scars disappeared instantly, I was apply cosmelan cream on the face and taking oral medications (yellow anti-aging capsules made of sun-flower), I dont remeber the name and yes I was also taking multivitamins. My complexions improved and scars were healing. After six months of the third session, my scars came back on the skin, they were not as severe as they used to be. Each session cost me around 200 dollars or more. I'l admit that I noticed a big difference and now my skin's much better than before. The only problem was financial constraint, I couldn't continue with the treatments due to lack of money. I couldnt spend 200 dollars on each session and extra 200 dollars on the medications.. So, I had to keep the patience even it was working.
i am attaching one picture of mine... it's before the hydromicrodermabrasion... I will post the new one soon.

I am here to get suggestions from you guy. I heard a lot of good things about micodermaroller and I have already ordered one 1.0 mm dermaroller online (scientia), they have dispatched the product to my home. But, I am feeling petrified after seeing the needles. I am not gathering the courage to put my skin at the risk. i know, i will have to prepare my mind for the dermarolling. I tried to roll myself, but I stopped suddently and checked this forum where i read a warning thread about dermaroller. I am very afriad of doing experiment with the skin as I have already messed up with it. I can't face more mental ordeal. I hope you know what's the pain of having a scarring skin and going out with the friends and recieving bad comments about yourself. I have also gone through a good deal of emotional suffering. I just can't express all the things. I cry at night and ask God to give me the path and tell me what to do. Even though it was my mistake to pop the acne but I shouldn't be punished that long. I want to go out without any fear of getting bad compliments about my face. I feel down when people stare at my scars and asked me the reasons... I have had enough.
Anyways, I am here to have your opinion. I hope you wil be honest. Should I roll my skin with the dermaroller or stay away?? Which way do I need to do? I will follow your directions, I am very concerned and serious about this.
Thanks

I've been using a dermaroller for awhile now, maybe 4 to 5 months. It's not a miracle--and it will make your scars look worse for about a week after rolling. But, I have seen a lot of the scars fill in and become relatively unnoticable from a foot away.

At any rate, it's worth trying, but it is def long-term.

I use a 1.0mm. You should go until you notice bleeding. I started doing that, and then I saw more improvement although my face also looked worse for a few days.

Subcision only really works on rolling/boxcar scars. It's best for rolling scars because it treats the underlying problem of rolling scars. For other scars, it's simply raises the skin slightly.

Hello Rob, Thanks for your reply. Which needle length are you using? I have 1.0mm scientia dermaroller, I haven't tried it yet. What to use before and after rolling?

As you can see my scars have changed the tone of the skin and I have many skin problems now, so I am thinking of giving a try to dermaroller. I can't afford to pay for laser treatment atm..

The picture doesn't show the depth of my scars accurately because of the less brightness. I am very confused. Would it be a risk to use roller on the scars I have???

What brand 2mm roller are you using, and where do you purchase from? Isn't 2mm dangerous, I thought only 1.5mm max was advised.

You use the dermastamp in addition to rolling?

i did the last time and saw remarkable results ...i have tough leathery sun damaged skin thats really hard to hurt ...the 2 mm barely makes it bleed ...yes i used the dermastamp on the crater type scars after dermarolling ....maybe b4 ...i didn't want to do just the dermastamp because it would really make the spots stand out ...i wanted to do the roller after so my whole face was red the next day ...but wasn't that noticeable

San99, if you are going to try dermarolling, make sure you read up on it on this forum and follow the advice, in order to minimize all the risks. I think it's important not to do it too often (i.e. only once every 6-10 weeks) and let the skin recover properly before doing it again. A lot of people here don't seem to follow that rule for some reason, but in my opinion it's better to be safe than sorry. I would also advice on getting some vitamin C cream to use for the aftercare. If you have the money, led lights and some other more expensive topicals (terproline professional, hyaluronic acid etc) might be beneficial.

I haven't tried dermarolling myself, but I have been considering it and thus reading a lot about it, so this post is simply based on what I've read here and not my own personal experience. I would only use a dermaroller once and then get a new one, to make sure it's sterile. Otherwise you have to make sure it's properly cleaned before using it again. It's very important to avoid infection while doing any scar treatments.

Deep FX or Fraxel Re:pair seem like very effective options if you're willing to consider lasers, just like DRaGZ said. But of course if you're on a budget, you would have to save up for quite some time.
