Hello all. I am 23 yr old female suffering horribly from clogged pores, and white heads ALL OVER MY FACE! This has been going on for a year now. At the age of 16 I got on birth control, and had been on it up until 3 months ago. I got this acne about a year ago, never had it as a teen really. I saw that being in birth control, and having topical treatments did NOTHING. So, I made the decision to go off of the pill. And my skin had about 2 weeks a month for 2 months, of clearer skin. By no means was it clear, but not covered with tiny and little white heads and bumps. I have tried everything. I am so depressed with this acne, I am at my wisdt end. Please help me with advice. I cry all the time, I just want to have clear skin. I am going to go back to the doctor this week hopefully. Mind you, I am currently using BenzaClin, and Differin AND am taking Spirolactone (Aldactone generic), ment to help zap the horomone receptors under my skin, ive been on this regiment of medicine since beginning of May 2012. Help me please!!!!!! Nothing is helping me!!!

why dont you try the acne.org regimen? It's really great, it cleared up my skin, and it isn't too many harsh chemicals. The only chemical you really put on your face in the regimen is 2.5% benzoyl peroxide, which oxygenates your pores, thus clearing your skin!
My advice for you is, go out and try new things. If it screws up your skin, try something else. You'll eventually find something that works. The regimen is what worked for me when nothing else did. Hope this helped

i know its hard, acne sucks - but don't cry! it WILL get better, people out there have gotten clear with worse acne. if its been 8 weeks and you have seen no improvement in your regimen then i think you've given it enough time and you should try something new. don't give up! being our age is the worst to have acne...all my girl friends have effortlessly flawless skin but you have to look past that and give yourself some love for your good qualities you have in other areas. acne is something we can treat, dont hate me for saying this but remember it could be so much worse! good luck and talk to your doctor about trying something new, it sounds like its past time for that.

Don't give up. I had acne from 12-24. I tried everything!! I was on every prescription under the sun and it did nothing. What finally worked for me?? The Olay Spin Brush. This thing had my skin clear in about a month and a half. I always thought there was something wrong inside of me which was the reason my skin was such a mess. Turns out (imo) that my skin cells weren't sloughing off my face fast enough, causing clogged pores and acne. SUCH a life saver, and for only $29, why not. It's a lot cheaper than constant doctors appt.'s, new prescriptions, etc. etc. Good luck to you.

WOW! First and foremost thank you for such quick replies! :)
Strawberry- what is the acne.com solution? Just benzoyl peroxide? I am using BenzaClin and that has benzoyl peroxide and clindmyacin (spelling). This is so frustrating. I am going to make a doctors appt, ASAP!

Acnelove- thank you very much for the positive words. Being a woman is fraustrating, huh?! I will keep trying and trying to find a solution. If y'all think of any ideas, please let me know!!!

Hello Lovve- I am going to buy it tomorrow! What's one more thing!! I would pay soooo much money to have clear skin. I've considered laser treatments. But, that's a last resort. I am going to buy the Olay skin thing tomorrow! Thank you so much!! :)

Megry, that is awesome!! I hope it is as good for you as it has been for me. Just a suggestion: mine came with a little sample of their acne cleanser. DON'T USE IT!!! It was no good!! It just dried out my skin. If you're looking for a good cleanser, try the Olay Regenerist Foaming Cleanser (although I've used other brands of cleansers and they all work well with the brush.) Also, make sure to change the brush head every 2-3 months or it won't work as well. You get a pack of 2 at WalMart for $10. :)

The Acne.org solution, commonly referred to as "the regimen" or "the DKR" (for Daniel Kern Regimen) is the use of 3 products in a specific order, revolving around benzoyl peroxide. I've used stuff before that contains benzoyl peroxide, but acne.org's benzoyl peroxide is just plain benzoyl peroxide, nothing else. To put it simply, acne.org sells a 3-step system to clear up your skin! You can buy it here on the website. It has a cleanser, treatment (benzoyl peroxide) and a moisturizer. I suggest you go to the "get clear" tab, and select "start here". There you'll find all the information you need about the acne.org regimen.

Hey, firstly, EVERYONE, please read.

Now, in my experience, and i have/did suffered/suffer with moderate back and chest acne for a year, i went a whole year in embarrassment, wearing a shirt underneath my school shirt so in the changing rooms no-one would see my acne. I know you are asking about facial acne, but i have the answer to ALL acne, well atleast, for me! Below I will Write my daily schedule for getting rid of acne:

1. Wake up, go and wash. I cannot emphesise this enough, as you sleep your skin builds up oils and dirt which clogs up your pores, so it is important that when you wake up in the morning you go straight to wash and don't do anything else first! A regualr bar of soap is fine! Or if you like you can use a acne clenser but i fimd a cheap bar of soap does the job.

2. Pat dry with a clean, fresh towel. Change your towel everyday! I don't exaclty know how much this helps but i do it and see results, maybe it has no effect, but for me i find doing it comforting anyway knowing that im using a clean towel. You can use the same towel in the evening. NOTE: It is important you pat, and do not rub as rubbing may actually irritate your skin and won't help at all.

3. Now, this is the really important bit, the medication. I went a whole year oblivious to this product until i noticed my acne was getting really bad and i had to do something quick, i searched the internet, and i found all the regular face washes with witch hazel, tea tree etc etc. The one that stood out was Benzoyl Peroxide, now besides having a cool name, this product absolutely destroys acne, i have never had a spot in my life that can withstand this product, it almost has a steamroller effect and seems to destroy the swelling and kills all the bacteria in the spot and the surrounding skin! The biggest of sports will be gone within 3-4 days, and all the rest? Pffft. Don't have a chance. I had really bad acne and cleared it to flat scabs and clear skin in the amazing time of 12 days. So after you have dryed your face, back, neck, chest or whatever your treating, apply 5% Benzoyl Peroxide LIBERALLY, you must use alot to get results! Let this dry then put clothes on and let the magic happen! Posted Image

4. Do the above again in the evening and you will be acne free in 12 - 16 days.

5. DO THIS EVERYDAY, NEVER MISS A DAY OR YOU WILL NOT SEE THE BEST REUSLTS POSSIBLE!

6. Now after you egt rid of your current acne, don't be fooled in thinking that it will not return, i learnt the hard way and 3 weeks later i was suffering from breakouts, i repeated the process for the second time round and when it was gone, i used 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide on all the acne prone areas, and i haven't seen a spot since! Posted Image

7. One last important note, I exercise everyday, a full weight workout an on a friday, sprint training for athletics, exercise is fantastic for helping acne it means you sweat and when you sweat you release toxins which cleanses your skin, however the sweat has to go somewhere right? It will linger on the surface of your skin and you shouldnt let it dry, you must wash it off in around 30 minutes to avoid irritation of your acne. I am lucky as all the gym and track and field facilities are close to my home so as soon as im done, i go home for a shower. Try and exercise in the morning or evening where you have access to a shower or bath, not midday. But i also understand that sometimes in gym class at school you can't get to a shower of something so what you must do i simply bring a clean bottle of water with you and pore this on the areas effected by your acne and it will not cleanse it 100% but it will get rid of alot of the sweat!

Hope this helped get back to me with questions. Posted Image
