I got a chemical peel patch test done on the side of my face three days ago. It scabbed. Today, I noticed the edges had lifted a little bit. Aaaand I couldn't help myself. I peeled most of the scab off. The skin is smooth, but there are a few of tiny spots that are a little red and not fully healed. Did I make things worse? D:

=\

what kind of peel was it?

I hope that it won't have any negative affect, but the aftercare of a peel is really important to prevent scarring.
You might want to keep antibiotic ointment on it as much as possible and avoid the sun (I'm talking hats and high zinc sunscreen, I recommend zinc only because it has healing properties and chemical sunscreens might irritate your fragile skin).

I would call the place you had it done and ask for further instructions. I would also reconsider whether it's a good idea for you to do your whole face.
You're really, really not supposed to pick/rub/touch/aggravate the scabs or peeling skin at all.

Good luck!

Yikes. My first TCA peel I couldn't help myself either because the edges lifted so I peeled it off....now I have red marks in that area that I never even had before. They faded after a while, but they're not completely gone and this is after a year. I was SO mad at myself. But, please note: my skin is very sensitive and red marks tend to last forever on me. I recommend putting some Neosporin on it and leave it alone! It could heal right up. For my second peel, I didn't touch my face at all, and I had great results. I can't wait to do another one.

Doesn't look too good, but put some Neosporin or Aquaphor on it and a band aid. Keep changing the ointment and bandaid several times a day, it'll aid a lot in healing.

I emailed the esthetician four days ago and she said to just leave it alone. It's looking better.

& I don't know what type of peel. She uses whatever peel is necessary to fix my face.

I feel like it'll be easier not to pick when my entire face is scabbed.

Apply some aloe Vera so it can heal. Don't worry. Its not too bad. Just has to heal.

It looks better! I would still recommend you keep it moist with ointment and maybe even put a band aid over it to promote faster healing. I did that for a mark I picked at and it healed VERY well within 2 or 3 days. You won't have any permanent scarring from this, doesn't even look like it'll be bad hyperpigmentation, maybe just a slight discoloration for a few months. Don't worry!
