So, I can pick up my prescription tomorrow, provided that my dermatologist actually does his part of iPledge, but he promised he was very good at what he does. Here is a sentence I NEVER thought I would say in my life: I'm actually sad that my skin has gotten so much better in the last few days. I say that because I feel like I won't really get the full transformation effect that I believe accutane could give me. I almost wish my acne was really awful when I started so I could take pictures and then have after pictures! But after typing this out, I've realized how stupid that is! Also, I did take some pictures of my face tonight, and any improvement would be very welcome!

I am anticipating dry eyes/lips and skin that is prone to sunburn, but are there any other day-to-day concerns I should look out for that any of you have experienced?

I am so excited to take my first accutane dose! I am on 40mg once a day for now.

I am starting today as well! I'm waiting right now for the pharmacy to call me to tell me I can pick it up. I am totally freakin' scared out of my head but I'm ready to do this. I am ready to battle all the dryness, nasty lips, dandruff, etc... I know it will probably get worse before it gets better but it WILL get better and we WILL have beautiful skin when it's all said and done. BRING IT ON!
Good luck and you can check out my log if you are interested. I would love to keep up with your progress as well :)
I will be starting on 30mg a day and bumping up to 60 after the first month.
If you want to know all the crap I'm going to be using I would gladly share that with you although I can't personally attest to how well they work yet, of course. I have, however, done a TON of research. This forum has been such a great source of support.
Keep in touch!
(I kid you not, the pharmacy JUST called so I'm going to get it now. It's only going to be a mere $375.Posted Image)

@CarolineG

Good luck Caroline!

Today is my 5th day on Accutane, and I hope it works out and is worth it in the end! Posted Image

I normally am really prone to nose bleeds, I have since I was little. So was really scared of the whole dry nose thing. I was told by my doctor to put some Vaseline on a cotton-tip and smear it inside the nose to keep it hydrated and less prone to crack and bleed!

Also, take some fish old (NOT cod liver oil) which is rich in Omega 3,6,9 to help with joint pains and general health while on Accutane. It should help a lot!

Keep us updated!

Wow! Thats quite expensive! I'm in New Zealand. With the public health system a months supply is only $3 for me!

I am on 30mg/day as well! Update me if you see any improvements/ side effects! I feel like that 30mg is quite low, for me! I'm 174cm and like 65kgs. Also a lot of people are on like 80mg/day! I hope it doesn't take too long before start seeing an improvement!

Thank you for the tip! I am also prone to nose bleeds, and my doctor suggested medicinal nasal rinses about every week, but I hate the feeling of those, so this is a better idea! I have joint problems already, that I'm guessing will only get worse with accutane, so I will look into the fish oil.

Wow, 3 dollars? That is about $2.44 here (I live in Colorado). I am very jealous, especially because I have always wanted to live in New Zealand.

So, my prescription will be ready tomorrow in the afternoon. I'm scared because tomorrow at close is my deadline! The pharmacy said a ton of people have been filling prescriptions for accutane, and they ran out. Boo! I refuse to wait 30 more days!!
