Hi everyone! I just came back from CVS and I want to know if these are good, recommended products.

Here is my current setup for the regimen, I've been using it for a week, I've started a log on it if you want to see how they're working:

Anyway, here are the products I am currently using:

Now, I just bought the Aveeno body wash and the razors and I wanted to know if they might be good to use for shaving and washing the rest of my body in the shower? Because I have bacne and chest acne... and I was hoping that switching body washes may help a bit. Also, I have to shave like every day, and those are double-edge razors with Aloe & Vitamin E embedded within them. I use the gentle cleansing wash for shaving cream.

Thank y'all! Posted Image

Oooh that Aveeno Clear Complexion face wash and lotion did nothing but make my life a living hell. Well, my face was soft but I had bumps everywhere. How has that been working for you so far?

I also think I'm allergic to the oats in Aveeno's stuff so that could be why. The body wash made me break out in hives. Funny too cuz Aveeno is supposed to be perfect for people with sensitive skin.

It's a good choice for a body wash and it leaves your skin super soft too. Don't know much about those razors but give it a try.

For your check, back, and shoulders you can always try Dan's AHA+ lotion a couple times a week. I absolutely love that stuff.

The Aveeno Clear Complexion Daily Moisturizer has been working great for me lol. It burns like crap though sometimes whenever I mix with the benzoyl peroxide, but I think that's normal. It actually got rid of all my bumps and faded some of the redness I had. Maybe it was because you are allergic to it... But we all have our skin types :) lol.

So, how long have you been on the regimen? Do my products look okay to you?

I don't know anything about the Aveeno products, but I believe that Purpose (or any store brand equivalent) should be fine. I'm currently using the CVS brand version of Cetaphil gentle cleanser and it works well for me. I had been using Neutrogena On the Spot and it made my face feel quite dry. since it runs out so fast the way it's used on the regimen, feel free to get the CVS brand. it's cheaper, plus it often goes on BOGO50%. or better yet, you could just buy Dan's BP treatment. I did once I ran out of the Neutrogena, and it's so much better! even though the big tube seems expensive, even after the shipping costs, you're getting a MUCH better deal on the BP than if you bought it in little tubes in the store. plus, I much prefer the gel formula of Dan's BP treatment since it's less drying.

if you find that the moisturizer is making your face sting, either use Cetaphil moisturizing lotion or moisturize with aloe vera gel. I find that I need to mix my aloe with a tiny bit of glycerin (found in drugstores, including CVS) because the glycerin helps add moisture. but use only 1-2 drops because it can be very sticky if you use too much!

Store brand stuff is fine for people who are not acne prone. I used Purpose for some time but it never really made my face feel clean. I agree with the above poster - don't waste your money doing Dan's regimen with a tiny tube of Neutrogena. If you're going to use his regimen, his BP is a good value. I don't agree with gobbing on BP but that's just me. Also, I don't see an SPF in your products. SPF is extremely important when using BP products.

Aveeno products are Johnson & Johnson. I liked their soy moisturizer at one point too but it was breaking me out. Purpose is Johnson & Johnson too. Although I think they are more gentle than most, I still don't think they are great for acne-prone skin.

Lumiplexion has an excellent SPF that won't break you out. I love all the products, but no better cleanser than the green for me. I've used it for over 20 years now, and although I've tried store brand in between, I've always come back. I know how hard it is to find a good SPF that won't break you out, so I urge you to try Lumiplexion's. Don't go without SPF. BP makes your skin much more susceptbile to damage from the sun.

Good luck with your regimen.

I would find the SLS in two of the products problematic. SLS has a high irritant and comedogenic rating. You can do your own research on SLS if you're curious.

Aveeno Clear Complexion Wash
Water, Glycerin, Disodium Lauroamphodiacetate, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Polysorbate 20, PEG-16 Soy Sterol.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Body Wash
Water, Glycerin, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Decyl Glucoside, Oat (Avena Sativa) Flour, Glycol Stearate, Sodium Lauroampho-PG-Acetate Phosphate.

CVS Gentle Cleansing Wash
Water, PEG-80 Sorbitan Laurate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, PEG-150 Distearate, Sodium Laureth Sulfate, Sodium Lauroampho PG-Acetate Phosphate, Fragrance, Quaternium-15, Tetrasodium EDTA.

I personally breakout pretty bad to aveeno products. Just seems like they dont know what they are doing when it comes to acne prone items. CVS wash should be fine. My personal experience though. I have pretty reactive skin.

Dan has some shaving tips and razor recommendations. I'll give you the links.

and

There are also specific steps for the body and back acne regimens that are a little different than the face regimen. I'll link you there too.
