My entire face has a red tint to it except around the eyes. I noticed it a couple weeks ago, and it kind of looks like a mild sunburn. I know that accutane makes your skin extremely sensitive to light, but even if I don't go outside for a few days (summer=sleep all the time) it remains the same. I mean my skin's almost completely clear, but this redness is putting a damper on my results. What gives? By the way, I'm on 80mg a day.

It's quite normal, believe me. The redness will reduce in a few months (I started my treatment in January and had the same problem). Just keep moisturizing like you do. You might want to use a calming face wash, or something for sensitive skin. I use Ponds Cold Cream, it's the only product that doesn't irritate my skin. But ask your doctor before you do anything, just to be safe. Also, you might want to put on a primer or a powder that has green in it (I recommend Physician's Formula) to counter the red in your skin.
I hope this helped, and good luck with your treatment!

It is called the tane burn. Almost everyone gets it.

Eucerin Anti-Rose

Use this. Someone on the forums suggested it to me and it works pretty well. You won't get to your natural skin color but at least you won't be as red as pepper.
Even though it's a daily cream I put it on in the evening on a cleansed face and don't wash it off for 2-3 days.
Try it, it's worth the money.

Would it be effective to use something like this? http://www.amazon.co...n/dp/B000P1S0N8

And if I did use it, would I apply it on top of a moisturizer?

Thanks

You could give that a shot! Im not sure if it will take away all the redness. It should help a bit though. You should moisturize morning and night and that should help a little bit too. Let me know how that works if you end up getting it. I am just using a CeraVe moisturizer and I am not too red. After a shower though I am a tomato!

Yes, since starting Accutane I've decided to just not look at my face directly after a shower... nothing good comes from it!

You can use it on top of a moisturizer or mix it with it and apply it together. You'll have to find out what works best for you. The product itself is a moisturiser with green pigments. It also has some calming ingredients and the product description says the redness should be reduced in 3-4 weeks. It did for me. Not ashamed of my red face anymore :D Let me know if it worked for you. I think it's the best product for accutane redness.

One more thing: I only use it after I have cleansed my face so there are no dead/dry skin cells cause they become visible if you don't cleanse before applying.
