Has anyone seen results with JUST green smoothies, if so how long did it take?
Please share with me the over all process of using green smoothies to clear up skin.
Sorry if there has already been a post like this.

Ive incorporated the later into my diet in the last 8 months and I'm yet to see any noticeable benefits/change, skin wise or health wise, which is a pain because they are truly vile to in smell and to a degree taste. Good to fill you up though if your having it as part of a light breakfast.

As in blended leafy greens green smoothies or powdered spirulina, wheat grass etc green smoothies?

The leafy green smoothies. Wow, I'm pretty shocked to hear that. I feel like if cleansing my body and taking some things out of my diet doesn't help clear my skin then I don't know what will.

Fresh made juices for me are supreme. I have carrot, celery, apple, beetroot, pineapple turbocharged with with ginger and lemon and sometimes parsley. I'm convinced all the pigments in th fruit and veg go to my skin because if I skip them for the a few days or more i starts to look washed out and dull again, the dark circles go darker and my eyes aren't as....'glistening'. Lol.
All this stuff is worth giving a go anyway for general health if nothing else.
Good luck!

I'm a bit perplexed too as to why it's having not much effect. But that's just the spirulina one and my experience, you may well be have great results with the leafy greens one.

I bought into the hype too. Drink them because they're good for your body, not because they might magically cure your skin woes.

Vegetables and fruits except apple should not be juiced together as they interfere with digestion. Check ur blood sugar levels. If it's high than this recipe is spiking it up. Substitute carrot, beet root fruits with cucumber and dandelion greens. Juicing book website have more information

Spirulina is a sea weed which is a trigger for some. Instead have barley grass and see how it goes.
I've been drinking them regularly for the last two or three months. They're a great snack and probably nothing but good for my body, but they have done nothing to visibly change the condition of my skin.

Juicing/green smoothies will not work unless you cut potential acne triggers. Cola, caffeine, alcohol, chocolate, refined sugar, junk food, dairy etc.

No, I won't be doing that, going to the extreme of fearing fruit and veg in combination. It's a healthy, nutrient dense beverage and far better than what this is a replacement for. Juicing (using this recipe) has not only been the single most effective addition to my diet for improving my skin, but no negative change to my digestion has been noted either.
Also, all juices in effect will spike blood sugars levels more than the whole foods they come from, whether they are mixed fruit and veg or not. Take the fiber out and you are going to have more concentrated sugars.
Cucumber is a fruit. Dandelion greens are vegetable. So if you've been using this combo you have inadvertently been mixing your fruit and veg which you recommend I avoid. Oops.
Lastly, spirulina is a kind of algae not seaweed. Its even grown in freshwater. Nothing 'sea' or 'weed' about it. And no, it hasn't been a trigger, it just hasn't improved matters either.

Beta carotene converts to Vitamin A and regulates blood sugar levels. Vitamin C/B6 lowers blood sugar. If you mix carrot with celery and cucumber you wont get any spike in sugar levels. Dandelion greens, beet, wheat grass etc. detoxifies. Juicing usually works instantly if taken properly. Again I would recommend looking at juicing book website for more information.

Koalaa asked if anyone had seen results with just green smoothies. Thus my response.
But I will also add that there is no guarantee green smoothies will "work", even if you avoid those other triggers. I've cut out all of the things you mentioned just as long as I have been drinking green smoothies, and not much has changed with my skin. I'm now about two weeks into a Paleo diet, but none of this stuff is guaranteed to produce noticeable results.

this is what i put in....
a mix of organic greens
strawberries
grapes
carrots
cucumber
Next time I will try something completely different because I think those ingredients together was a terrible idea. Especially the carrots.

You guys are missing to put in some oils. Oils do slow down sugar absorption as well as they well provide lot of calories. Try extra virgin olive oil about 5 teaspoons. You won't taste em anyways.
Try adding a piece of banana, that really changes the entire taste. Carrots are fine, cucumber may not taste pretty in some cases, but just add in some sugary fruits to soften the taste.

Brown is due to the oxidation I am guessing which is a normal process when the cellulose walls are broken.

Okay thanks a bunch.
Olive oil is considered to be one of the good oils right?
Do you know any other sugar fruits besides the banana?

The result is cold, a bit creamy, and a little tart. I have one every day with breakfast.
I tried different concoctions out in the beginning and found that adding any vegetable besides leafy greens usually led to a nasty mixture. I like to keep it simple.

The one I do is very simple and tastes great. I use a magic bullet and fill half the cup with baby spinach leaves, the other half with blueberries. I throw in an ice cube, top off the cup with unsweetened coconut milk, and add a bit of cinnamon. Recently I've also been throwing in a tablespoon of coconut oil (for some extra healthy calories).

Thank you for all the advice.
The banana really helped and you're right; It taste better when you keep it short and simple.
I think I'll try and get some coconut milk along with Amazing Grass.
I will not be able to replace the greens very often so I think the Amazing Grass will help.
