Last month, I had a breakout because of exams, and I applied some prescribed Clindoxyl gel (with BP) to deal with it. It cleared a lot of my marks, but left lots of dark marks. However, since most of these were on my jaw, they healed quickly (marks along my jaw tend to not last long).
However, I had this one pimple higher up from my jaw, along that part of your cheek where your tongue can touch from the inside of your mouth, and I just kept applying a lot of BP morning and night. When it finally went away, it left a mark that was a lot darker than my normal ones. I thought this was just caused by the location of it (some areas of my face tend to leave marks for long periods of time). I didn't think much of it otherwise, thinking it would fade.
Last week, I had a pimple on my cheek, and I did a similar thing, which left a really dark mark as well. They both don't fade, and they look like they will last for yeeears, since my regular 7 month old marks are still fading with the help of ACV. They are both on the same side of my face, which is depressing. With one, it wasn't that bad, but with both it is very noticable.
Just wondering if it is actually the BP causing this. Also if anyone has tips fading my marks (most of them are on cheeks and temples).

Recently been having bad breakouts and I usually pile on BP but have been getting really bad red/brown marks too which seem to stay forever. However I'm not entirely sure if there's a correlation, it's possible that if you stop using BP you'll get more breakouts and more marks, so it's a bit of a ruthless cycle if BP does make marks more noticeable. I'd say ask your doctor for alternatives, as there are other treatments like salicylic acid which help acne and marks (some sites claim that salicylic acid has an exfoliating effect thus clears marks quicker, but others say on darker skin tones it can actually cause hyperpigmentaion). I've been using a salicylic acid face wash the past month and it may be helping with lighter marks but the red/darker marks may just need time. All the best and I hope you can find something that works.

If you have a problem with Hyperpigmentation, I'd advise you stay away from BP. I've had my marks for 4 years+
