Microdermabrasion 12 Months After Accutane Excessive?

So I finished accutane 6 months ago. My dermatologist told me that I have to wait 12 months before doing any dermabrasion, laser treatment, etc.

He is slightly clueless for a dermatologist and I don't rate him very much.

I was on accutane for 5-6 months at 80mg per day. I'm still getting the odd pimple though. My red marks haven't faded at all though.
I'm starting University in September so I'd love to have some microdermabrasion to remove my scars before it begins.


Is a 12 month wait excessive?

Everything I have read states to wait at least 6 months for anything like that.

However it probably isn't a bad idea to play it extra safe considering the toll the tane takes on your skin.
