Hey everyone,
I was recently prescribed Tazorac (0.1% gel) for my face, and brought home a few small sample tubes to try out. I was told that this is very potent stuff so after I showered (used a similarly prescribed Avar cleanser for the face), I put a thin layer of moisturizer on my face, and carefully squeezed out maybe one-fourth of a pea-sized blob of Tazorac gel onto my finger. I then spread it around the affected areas of my face (cheeks), but since I was using so little gel, some parts of my face got it and others didn't.
A few minutes later I looked at my face and realized that the parts which did get the Tazorac seemed bleached. I'm Asian and have tan skin, and the bleaching isn't TOO obvious, but it's definitely there. This was two days ago, and the discoloration is still visible today. I called my dermatologist's office on Friday but could only leave a message, and I'm not sure when I'll get a call back. I was just wondering if there's an explanation for this, and is this temporary?
I haven't used the gel since, just to stay on the safe side.
Thanks for any help you can give!
