I'm not sure if this is rosacea or just the fact that I have really sensitive skin, but I've noticed that my face will just suddenly get very warm and pink and suddenly get very oily throughout the day. It definitely happens more when the weather is very warm, but it's like my face is being heated from the inside and almost like there's a layer of saran wrap on top of my skin that's keeping it from "breathing." It's a really strange feeling and is very uncomfortable and not too attractive either--getting pinkish ONLY on my face. Is something like this more likely to be from having very sensitive skin or due to the fact that I'm in Florida and summer is just a terrible experience?

I deal with it too. Sounds exactly what I deal with. I think it's just one of those things. I live in NYC so I know how the heat and humidity is. I'm moving to Oregon eventually and I'm looking forward to less humidity and heat so I don't have to deal with this as well. Ive been using African black soap and it seems to help with the oiliness of my skin.

So you don't have rosacea or anything? I'm glad I'm not the only one! No one seems to know what this is! I'll check that soap out!

Do you wear sunscreen? When you get out in the sun, you have an initial period where your skin is being protected by melanocytes, but after a certain amount of time (varies per person) your melanocytes fry and your skin is completely "bare" so to speak. This is a huge generalization, but I think you get the idea. If you're not wearing sun protection it could just be the feeling of intense heat frying your skin.

I have sensitive skin and I can ALWAYS feel when I am going to have a burn later, and it feels like that saran wrap feeling you describe. I also have been diagnosed with rosacea, though.

Yeah I used to experience that a lot lately. Using moisturizer of some kinds really offsets it. I've been having problems ever since I had cellulitis last February. Now it seems to be going away for the most part though.

My skin is actually so sensitive that I can't even really wear sunscreen on my face, especially now that I've started breaking out. It happens even when I'm not directly in the sun--sometimes just walking outside for a minute or sitting inside without a fan on will cause it.

Me too. I was going through absolute hell earlier. I know a lot of other people have it worse than me but for me it is something I'm not used to because my skin usually is perfect so when I get blemishes I'm like omg what the hell. I don't even need to use moisturizer to cover it up. The one thing id tell myself not to do if I were to go back in time when I was having all those problems is that I should not be using ice. If I were you I would use as minimal ice as possible. It should be used if you have something that hurts and it can get the inflammation down but don't use ice to get the redness down because that'll make it all worse. It does not substitute for a moisturizer. And find a product that works, don't just use aloe Vera plants or honey.

I feel like I can finally live again and nit need to always look in the mirror 5 hours every night now.
