I have basically tried all of the other retinoids up until this point. I have been on this regimen for 5 full weeks now. Dan's BP in the morning and Tazorac .05 Gel at night. I have not seen much improvement. I know that Tazorac takes 12 weeks but I have also experienced no irritation, dryness, or burning. My dermatologist gave me samples for Tazorac Gel .1 today and said I can try that if I want. From people who have used Tazorac, should I give Tazorac .05 Gel the full 12 weeks or is it just not strong enough to clear me and go to .1? Thanks.

Wow, really, no peeling, nothing? Or is it peeling and your skin is just not irritated? Maybe your skin is just used to retinoids. I use the .05% cream and it did peel me for the first few weeks but after 3 months my skin is great.

No peeling at all. I have been on and off retinoids for years now so my skin is pretty resistant I guess. Maybe it is because I am applying a moisturizer a half hour before I put it on? When did you actually begin to see results? My acne is fairly mild but very very persistent.

I saw results after two months, and very good after 3 months, but others tell me it continues to improve even after 3 months. I also moisturize, though I have not waited the half hour and that has been fine.

Updating this thread. I made the switch to Tazorac .1 on August 1st and it was a great decision. No irritation or redness. I am finally clearing up again after nothing has worked for the last 2 years (dan's regimen, retin a micro, differin). I had been clear from Differin for 3 years prior to that but it stopped working for some reason. This is really great stuff.

when i used tazorac (the cream and the gel) i was also using it in conjunction with a prescription bp 2.5% so im guessing the bp is the one that made my skin burn and peel HORRIBLY. so i quit the bp. then i was just washing with the cetaphil face wash, and applying the tazorac. it made my face clear up so well! sadly my insurance didn't cover the larger tubes of tazorac and i never went back for any more. it also cleared up some of my dark spots but caused my skin to be badly hyper pigmented
