Okay so it's pretty embarrassing to talk about this, so I'll keep it brief. I've been getting what I can only assume are boils in my pubic area since I was 10. If I don't drain them (which honestly just involves pressing on either side of one until it bursts), I am left in agonizing pain. I assume they're boils because they're about the size of the tip of my thumb, and always have puss in them. They hurt like crazy!!!
A doctor told me once that they're ingrown hairs, but I started getting them before I shaved that area. Now that I shave, i get crazy ingrown hairs that are just pimple-sized bumps, so I don't know if she was right *shrug*. Anyway, I'm left with cavernous dark purple colored 'indents' in my skin all around that area, that are seriously hideous, and makes me look completely diseased. I am never comfortable having sex. I still get humongous sores on my inner thighs, and bikini line, but not as bad as before. Is there something I can do to get rid of the scarring? Does anyone have any tips for getting rid of the large pustules in that area? Nothing seems to work. I would post pictures but I don't have a camera that has good enough quality to show. Thanks!

Have you tried using tea tree oil? That will help if they are ingrown hairs, and wearing loser fitting cotton underwear so your skin can breathe. If it is really bothering you and your Dr is not being helpful I would consider seeing a derm. Have you also been STD checked, that might be worthwhile.
