Hi! I was wondering if someone could suggest the best powder for keeping oily skin at bay. I have EXTREMELY oily skin. about 10 minutes after putting on make-up I'm already shiny! eww.
For some background, I don't really have too much of a problem with acne anymore, i use retin a and duac gel and now my skins clear, I just have oil to deal with. I am sensitive to cornstarch and other pore clogging products.
So far these are the powders I've tried which haven't been successful:
-Coastal scents silica spheres
-MAC Studio Fix
-All Physician Formula Powders
-NYC Loose powder
-Coty Airspun powder
Please give me some advice! I'm tired of my face rivaling the BP oil spill!
Thanks!

I have the same trouble and this is what is working for me since its been 100 degrees outside here.I use my normal foundation which is revlon color stay. Then over that I use a powder foundation Ive been using sheer cover only because my sister gave it to me but when its gone I will br trying store brands. Then over that I use i use maybeline finishing powder I use a brush an just do swirling motions all over my face til everything feels all dry an non oily. Also have you used a face primer?Ive been using monistat chafing gel for my primer which has the same ingredient as my other primer it works great,You can take a look on youtube alot of ppl are using it and another to try is milk of magnesia. I tried it as a primer an i just seemed oilier however using it as a mask works for me.You can google or watch you tube for more info. For me the chafing gel under make up works great combined with my extra powdering steps.I stay oil free for 3-4 hours then I use oil absorbing sheets as needed an i can last 8-10 hours with my make up looking good.

Thanks for the suggestions!
Hmm, I was interested in buying the monistat gel, but i heard it can cause breakouts for some people...Have you experienced that at all?

Have you tried MAC Blot Powder? If not, I'd recommend it.

I haven't had any breakouts from monistat gel. I break out easy and have sensitive skin.

I'm like you - oily after 10 minutes. Not cute. I also use the monistat gel from time to time and it has never given me a problem and works really well. I was nervous about it at first because touching my face the wrong way causes a breakout. As for a powder, I use Bare Minerals Mineral Veil. Good luck.

As weird as this is gonna sound - have you tried milk of magnesia? There's a whole review dedicated to it on makeupalley and it seems so enticing with the reviews I've read to keep oil at bay o__o
Anyway as for powders, Matte FX has a blotting powder. A cheaper alternative is the maybelline dream matte pressed powder. I've been using FX's as a finishing powder and it keeps me shine free for a good 4-5 hours. I just bought the maybelline dream matte powder to use for touch ups since it's dirt cheap. So far so good.
