I picked at a pimple on the inside of the top of my nose/near mid eyebrows, and the mark ended up much bigger than the actual pimple...looking almost like a cut. It scabbed over once and the scab was really brown, when it peeled off it had red/pink raw looking skin underneath. I continued to apply hydrocortisone cream to it and a bandaid on top. Now, the skin seems to be healing well, it's a very light pink color, almost normal skin color and the texture feels like normal skin.

My question is will this turn into a brown mark? And how can I prevent that? Most of the time, all my pimples/picked pimples turn into brown marks that eventually fade. But I don't want this to turn brown cause it would look so much more obvious.

Do you use sunscreen?

I personally think that daily sunscreen use has been the most helpful for me for preventing healing blemishes from darkening (more than is normal for my skin type - I mean).

I've used SPF 30 in the past and marks have still darkened when using that. I recently bought a sunscreen with SPF 60. Will that help?

I'm not sure. The other proactive step you could try is using a fade gel or cream. They generally have hydroquinone or kojic acid to minimize melanin production. I can't really say much about their efficiency though.

I think it's Oxidisation which causes it.

Try this , as recommended by most members

Wash your face with facewash during the evening.
Apply Manuka honey ( 10UMF or higher ) on your face lightly with your fingers.
Sit around like Pooh bear with honey on his face for 2 hrs.
Wash off face with water first and then facewash
Apply a moisturizer

Improvements can be seen in 1 week.
