Use some emu oil to moisturize or look into some african black soap wit Shea butter and vitamin E. Nubian heritage is the brand. I'm beginning to love it and I've only used it for 3 nights.

I actually have never used rosehip oil. I have a bottle of black soap with rose hip oil that I just got today but I'm nervous to use it. I've read it has the possibility of making your skin red due to irritation, so I'm a little leery. I've never had any issues with emu. It's amazingly soothing. If you wanna be a guinea pig, try it and let all of us know how it is. There aren't many reviews on here, but google has a lot if u wanna read through that.

Here's a shit load of reviews. It will be all women though I believe.

When ever I've over done it with my face, my skin barrier is always sad. You should focus on ingredients for repair, niacinamide is good (ceraVe PM) and ceramides (ceraVe lotion or cream), glycerin is a good ingredient for retaining moisture but I know not every one wants to use it on their skin. You can add emu oil to the lotion and put it on your face, I do that all the time. Or you could put on the lotion and then the rosehip oil on top. A lot of people like aloe too.

I think the most important thing is just to leave your skin alone for a little while and just pamper it. Remember that it might take days or weeks for it to get back to normal.

What did you do to over exfoliate? My advice is to apply aloe Vera gel and give your skin a breather. If you use oils, go light on the application.

I used manuka honey masks every night for a week straight. Manuka honey is usually a really amazing natural exfoliator but I obviously left them on for too long and too often cause I did it for over an hour each night.

My skin is pretty raw and irritated right now, but I have been applying aloe constantly for the last day, and I was going to pick up some emu oil tomorrow, I'm just hoping I can get it back to normal in a week or two and that this won't last for months.

Jojoba oil or CeraVe moisturizer.
