Okay so my acne also develops at night but never reeeeeeally bad... anyways it seems to always develop during the day if I have a big day planned. For example, I had college orientation one weekend and it was a day filled of activities.. Class registration, briefings on conduct, etc. Well once I got home I had a face full of whiteheads and couldn't believe my eyes. They just sneak up on me out of no where. Any ideas as to how I can prevent/treat this? This also tends to happen when I go out to eat or something to a nice restaurant. I believe its food related, but its not like I can't eat the restaurants food when Im at a dinner date!?

i have the same problem and if i knew why i probably wouldn't be lurking around this forum. although typically my acne appears or disappears at night, i have discovered it gets worse during the day and is calmest at night or when i wake up. i would guess this is because your body is dormant at night and during the day your body wakes up and of course we must deal with our environment and food, etc... which contributes to acne.

i really hate it... so many times pimples will develop in a matter of a few hours and i'm sure anyone around me can recognize this. i don't really know what to say or what to do. i have lost hope for my face ever being clear, as melodramatic as it sounds. i think all you can do is try to keep your face clean and eat foods/supplements that will benefit that.

Bumping one more time... I really would like to get this sorted out. Is this because of a lack of vitamins or something? I think its food/stress related because its happening during the day.

Hi GI/greasy foods during the day might be the reason. Try drinking 3-4 glasses of water in an empty stomach in the morning and warm lemon water with meals rest of the day.

Also try to have alkaline/cooling foods specially apples, melons, papaya, cabbage, oatmeal etc.

I don't know for sure but I don't think the time of day affects acne development... I suppose during the day if your sweating and/or your skin is getting really oily that could affect it but I think what it is more likely that it's just the normal 'time frame' of acne development... acne isn't clearing or appearing strictly at night time - it just takes time for a spot to develop so when you wake up and look in the mirror you could be shocked to see a new or more developed spot because it's been a while since you've seen your skin in the mirror - same for any time of day - sorry I can't word this better but hoping you'll get the idea of what I'm thinking....

Anyway - Sticking to a good skin care routine and eating well should help. You might want to research foods / diets that help with acne

This would happen to me because my skin would get oilier as the day progressed. Decreasing my oil production through taking supplements cured my problem.

Supplements as in vitamins? I've been taking vitamin A, Vitamin d3 and zinc for the past few days. Hopefully those will help. Keeping my fingers crossed! haha

Yea, Vitamin A helped a TON. I take several others, but I think vitamin A has made the biggest difference by far.

How much have you been taking? I'm currently taking 10,000IU per day and its helped so much. Now I just need to get rid of scars. Vitamin A is a God send for me. Im so glad I picked it up. Even though I still get new bumps, its a LOT less often!

i just bought some vitamin A and was wondering if you folks know how to keep from ODing it. i know it stores in your fat but it helps with acne. i don't expect any doctors to be here to answer but i am just a bit anxious to start taking it.

Most places recommend you don't take over 10,000 IU a day. To personally make myself feel better about it, I only take 5,000 IU. That is just a tad over what the recommended dose is on the bottle. I feel safe at this amount and have seen good results.

Happens to me as well. For example yesterday morning I had a red spot that I knew was going to turn into a pimple it was just a matter of time. It was completely flat but thats how all pimples start. About 8 hours later, its a nasty whitehead. And i didnt do ANYTHING yesterday. I literally laid in bed all day watching movies so I wasnt stressed or sweating or anything crazy. Ive been getting a pimple each day and I dont know what to do now. Things were looking up, but now im confused again.
