What if it is applied on skin? Can that do harm?

No, there are several people using turmeric/curcumin to make a mask. I have no experience with it, but if you have a look around, I'm sure you'll find some topics. Or Google it. It may stain your skin, though, not sure how much or how long that lasts. There are also ayurveda turmeric creams you can buy otc or on the web.

It didn't do anything bad for my skin but a much more noticeable effect comes from taking it internally.

I love eating things that make me more orange/yellow. It just makes me look more tan. I've only ever really noticed that with carrots.

Curcumin supplements can get rather expensive, so I purchased 1000 empty gelatin capsules from amazon, and plan on making turmeric/black pepper capsules! The teensy bits of acne I get here and there even when my diet is good seem to go away with curcumin supplementation - even when some other factors like sleep weren't going so well.

Ginger is a close relative go turmeric as well, perhaps I'll start supplementing with that as well! Has anyone else tried ginger supplements?

It's been a while since I added it to my tea, I have to start doing that. Once we start our raised garden, I will definitely start growing it since organic ginger is so expensive!
