I have been on Differin gel .3% for almost a year now and it has definitely reduced my acne immensely however it has also engraved some red marking on my face the past maybe 4 months. My dermatologist said I will have scarring. I don't see any scarring though and I only see redness all over my face and red markings. My question is what exactly is this and does it fade over time?

Your skin looks very similiar to mine. Try some salicylic acid. It removes the outer layer of skin and helps with red marks. Paulas choice BHA is great. Or an AHA from Paula choice would work too, but SA aka BHA clears out pores more than AHA to prevent breakouts.

Hey Murph89,

I would however I wast old by my dermatologist not to use SA while using Differin. I am guessing because it could disrupt the skin somehow.

I think what your dermatologist means by scarring is that the marks are slightly indented. I'm sure they fade over time. To help them fade faster, try exfoliating if you haven't already. I've been using ACV for my brown marks, and it's been working really well. Not sure if they will help everybody though
