A while back, my doctor started me on a sodium sulfacetamide wash. The one my pharm gave me was made by Perrigo. It wasn't really a wash, more like a mask that you left on for 5-10 minutes. It worked *amazing.* And the stuff was so potent that I never had to use much of it (just once a day; one bottle lasted me 3 months). Also, it left my skin feeling very clean and smooth afterwards.

So I got suspicious when, one day, I went to get a refill and my pharm gave me a lotion version of it. My pharmacist assured me it was the same active ingredients and everything, but I ended up hating it. First off, it just didn't seem as effective. I had to use a *lot* more of it to avoid bad breakouts (and I still broke out even when I was super dilligent with the stuff). Also, it irritated my skin sometimes, especially when I got some benzoyl peroxde on it.

I complained to the pharm, but they said they had no control over it; the manufacturer decides what to give to the pharm. Then, after 5 months of using the lotion, Periggo switched it up AGAIN, this time by giving me a gel form. The gel was even less effective than the lotion, and it made my skin feel like I'd stuck my head in a vat of bacon grease.

Oh how I long for the days of the wash. Does anyone have a similar experience? Does anyone know if they still even make the wash (mask) version anymore? And if so, is there a place where I can get it?

That version is not made anymore. Sorry.

For the gel form, you should be applying a very very thin layer on your face and NOT washing it off.
