I personally did not have long-term success with antibioitics. My body became immune to each one and I started to get constant yeast infections (I started antibiotics when I was young, and no one told me to supplement with probiotics at the time).

I guess it depends on what you mean by success. Let me preface by saying that I am 28, and have been on acne meds since I was 23. If I were to stop taking my meds now, my cystic acne would surely flare up again (I know, because I tried going off - the results were disappointing).
However, I was on minocycline for 2.5 years and it really cleared up my acne; my skin was near close to perfect. But then after such prolonged usage of Minocycline, I developed drug-induced Lupus! Yeah, my magical wonder drug was destroying the bacteria on my face while destroying other parts of my body.
Not a big deal, though, because all I had to do was stop taking the Minocycline. I'm now on Bactrim, and using Duac as a topical, and though the Bactrim doesn't work quite as well as the Mino (I still breakout around my time of the month - I didn't experience that while on the Mino), it is helping and I know if I went off it, my face would break out horribly.
I often wonder if I'll ever be able to go off my acne meds. I don't want to be 50 years old and still battling acne cysts and breakouts. What keeps my head up is reminding myself that, in the grand scheme of things, the acne is not a big deal. Yes, it absolutely sucks to go into an important meeting with a huge, pustering cyst on your chin. But I have friends who love me no matter what, a boyfriend who loves me no matter what, and a family that loves me no matter what. That's what really matters and helps me keep my head up when my acne compels me to keep it down (literally!)

Asking if anyone has had success with antibiotics is like asking if anyone's been to the Moon lately.... It's bulls--t.
Accutane is the only known permanent cure for acne and the sooner you go for it the sooner you'll get rid of acne.
