Its quite astonishing really I've been a member of this site for a long time and even though I tried a lot of products that were mentioned by members in advice for my skin, I never really found something that had any effect. However, whilst scrawling through this part of the forum a while back I discovered a thread concerning manuka oil/ honey for fading red marks. I did a google search and was impressed with the results so I ordered some and have been applying it for just over a week now. My red marks have faded to a remarkable degree, around 60/70% in this short duration and it also seems to prevent new acne from appearing. I only really suffer from mild acne these days so I don't want to go ahead and say that it will be effective with cysts, but if you predominately deal with comedones/ whiteheads then I say give a shot. Having dealt with acne for over 10yrs this is first time that I have found ANY product that actually combats my red-marks and seems to actively deal with them.

@zahid- yes I've had some very ingrained dark marks from the after effects of cystic acne, manuka honey seems to help these marks fade but the process is ongoing. The marks have not completely disappeared but I am hopeful with time I will see a significant reduction in tone.

@dantheman123- I purchased some from a company called living nature which are based in New Zealand (do a google search), I think other members of this board use their products and they seem to be very professional in their knowledge of the effects of manuka honey/ oil on acne. I haven't tried looking for other mauka based products on other websites though, so I suggest you read carefully about the information concerning the product you want to purchase for your skin care regime before making a decision.

Hi, I would really like to try this but I have no idea which one I should be getting could you find out which UMF and MGO yours has.

edit: just had a look at livingnature site and see there's no mention of the UMF and MGO so I'll just order direct from there

http://www.livingnat...c&r=vw&cid=1932

Did you order the Manuka Oil 14.10 10ml or if not could you link to the one you got.

thanks.

@mehmeh123- The one I ordered is the manuka honey rescue gel (50ml) that is a combination of both the honey and the oil. I think this is more suitable for me as I have extremely sensitive skin and I have broken out badly before when I have tried to use pure oils (even diluted with water, as was the case with tea tree oil ) on my skin. If you order the pure oils product I would advise you try and dilute it with water even if you skin isn't particularly sensitive.

Hey asaha3, I don't know if it works on scars as I don't have that problem with my skin. I suspect it probably doesn't work, but you can still try it out if you get manuka honey to deal with any red marks you have.

Manuka honey is great for scars and marks! It's very anti-inflammatory, happy that it worked for you! :)

Going to try this with turmeric powder when I get home tomorrow, I've heard great reviews about it!
