I've been on 200mg (daily) of Spironolactone for 5 days now, and I am definitely peeing way too much, roughly every single hour today. I'm a little worried about how long this is supposed to last - does this symptom subside after you've been on Spiro for awhile, or does it persist? It's frustrating when I'm out or at work and I need to pee every 50-65 minutes regardless of whether I'm drinking a lot of fluids or not.

Hi, I've been taking Spiro for some time now... And, for sure in the beginning, i was peeing like crazy, like every hour or so.
I still have to go to the bathroom frequently, because i do drink lots of water, but i believe it's less frequent than the first few months of taking spiro...

When I started it was every hour...4 months later it's every 2-3.

For me, the frequent urination stage lasted about 5-7 days. I also experienced headaches that week (from being dehydrated, I'm assuming). Since then, I haven't experienced the frequent urination or the headaches. But I'm on a lower dosage than you (50 mg/day), so perhaps that made the adjustment period easier.

It lasted 2-3 weeks for me. I had to go about every hour and a half. I also had some insomnia if I took my evening pill too close to bedtime. It helps to cut up your pills and take smaller doses, and to take the spiro with meals. Make sure you KEEP drinking, though! Don't make the mistake of thinking, well if I drink less, I pee less...your body needs that water.
200mg is a very high dose. Unless you weigh around 200lbs, personally it seems way too high. My derm recommended 50mg if you're under 125lbs, and 75mg-150mg if you weigh more. This is assuming you have severe cystic acne like mine. You could probably get away with less with moderate acne.
I cleared on 100mg, but it took 4 months for my body to adjust and stop creating acne. Patience is key.
