I think this is probably the best TV cooking show I've seen for simple but tasty quality food from cuisines around the world. I really like the rustic elegance of his food. And he makes a main course, veggies and or salad, desert and often a drink in 30 minutes. Like Rachel Ray except her food is often junk.

It's mostly about real, whole nutrient dense foods with the occasional bit of bread/pastry or noodles. And deserts that might involve grains, or might not. Just ignore those or save for once in a while splurges depending on your individual issues.

It's currently airing on BBC America.

My mother has the book - it has some pretty decent recipes in it.

Generally he makes good food with decent ingredients, he’s done various shows and sponsors a supermarket over here where i shop and they have a good range of organic foods etc.

Isn't that the same guy who keeps trying to help but ends up getting kicked out of American school cafeterias AND eventually school ground? if so then I like him a lot. It's a shame what he deals with though.

Jamie Oliver used to be known as 'the naked chef' due to his stripped down approach to basic cooking, I've never seen his quick meal shows though. I actually find his voice horrendously annoying and try to avoid him.

Almost definitely. He did a big campaign here in the UK about our school food as well.

Here's a TED he did about the state of food in public schools. Spoiler alert: sugar!
