So I just wanted to share with everyone what I did to finally control my persistant moderate acne. But, first I'll breifly share a bit of my history with acne.
So, I first began breaking out when I was 12 years old I am now 19. So pretty much for the past seven years with the exception of the last two months I have always had at least one breakout on my skin. Some breakouts were mild others moderate and sometimes severe. During these seven years I have been struggling like many of us have looking for solutions at the drugstore, dermatoligists, products such as proactiv, antibiotics, birth control and home remedies. I've pretty much tried it all! With all of this I have also acquired many scars which also took an emotional toll on my self esteem. However, I have finally controlled my acne incorporating a variety of changes into my lifestyle. I cannot pinpoint exactly what it is that has cleared my acne, but I have a feeling it is a conjunction of the changes I have made. All in all, I have not had one breakout on my skin for the last two months even during times of stress and that time of month, which would have previously been when my breakouts were at their worse.
First I want to say that I am no expert, nor do I claim that any of the things I mention are directly correlated to acne. I am simply sharing my lifestyle changes.
I began to drink Geen Tea everyday instead of coffee and only fresh all natural juices and water
eliminated red meat, cow milk, soda, sugary drinks and juices
reduced the consumption of most dairy products, and refined products
-I began takingBell Lifestyle, Master Herbalist Series, Help for Skin Disorders natural supplements which I bought on ebay for 30 dollars. However I am not 100% sure this is what cleared up my skin as I implemented them into my diet at the same time as I changed everything else in my diet. My mom swears this is the miracle that cleared my acne but I just feel they complimented everything as a whole. They're natural so they don't hurt, but they are a little pricey.

As far as my skincare regime
What I did when I still had Acne
Morning:
purpose face wash
moisturize with olay complete all day UV protection SPF 15 moisturizer
Night:
Remove makeup with with epielle make up remover wipes
purpose face wash
Tone with Dickinson's witch Hazel
Olay night recovery cream
Tea Tree oil on acne breakouts
*note: The reason why I changed my routine up a bit after my acne went away was because I wanted to be as gentle as possible with the acne when it was present, but use a cleanser that was a little stronger yet still gentle enough to prevent any acne from forming along with treating my hyperpigmentation and acne scars.
Once My acne was gone and what I am using now
Morning:
wash my face with Derma e clear skin problem skin cleanser
moisturize with olay complete all day UV protection SPF 15 moisturizer
neutrogena ultra sheer liquid daily sun protection spf 55
night:
Remove makeup with with epielle (Big lots) make up remover wipes
wash my face with Derma e clear skin problem skin cleanser
tone with Thayers rose petal witch hazel with aloe vera toner
apply Derma e scar gel over affected areas
Tea Tree oil if any pimples are present
*note: The Derma e products are really great and natural although a bit pricey I do think they're definetly worth it and they could be purchased online or at most natural food stores such as Whole Foods. All other products were purchased at the drugstore.
Ultimately, this is what I have done for the past two months to get to where I am now and I really couldn't be happier. For the first time in seven years I have been able to wake up without staring at a face full of inflammed acne pimples (still working on the scars). Attached are before and after picture of what I looked like two months ago & how I look now. I really do hope that this could be at least the slightest bit of help to someone suffering with acne because I really know how it feels to suffer with an ongoing case of acne to the point where it feels like I was just doomed to acne forever.
