Hey guys, this is probably one of my first posts but I really need some help here. I am currently on Erythromycin at the moment, and although I believe that this it is improving my condition, I feel that my cleanser may be holding me back. I feel that this may be because the cleanser contains Sodium Laureth Sulfate, which Dan says is not beneficial to use.
I currently use: (I HAVE OILY, NON-SENSITIVE SKIN)

'Superdrug Tea Tree and Peppermint Foam Face Wash' on a daily basis, both in the morning and evenings. Although it is quite gentle and foaming, the second ingredient on its list (after Water) is Sodium Laureth Sulfate!
'Garnier Pure Active Exfo-Brusher Wash' every 2-3 days, in the evening. The second ingredient on its list (after Water) is Sodium Laureth Sulfate. I also tried the 'Garnier Pure Active Deep Pore Unclogging Wash', which contains EXACTLY THE SAME ingredients as the 'Exfo-Brusher', and this wash broke me out. I feel that if the 'Unclogging Wash' broke me out, than the 'Exfo-Brusher' must be contributing to my breakouts as it contains the SAME ingredients as the ‘unclogging Wash’. The 'Exfo Brush' is also an exfoliater/scrub which may be having negative effects as well!

Now, I feel that it is time for a change, and I know (this time) that I want a product that is GENTLE and DOES NOT contain SODIUM LAURYL/LAURETH SULFATE. I live in the UK and have now come up with a list of 3 possible cleansers. I have added their ingredients list:

'Clearasil Stayclear Skin Perfecting Wash Sensitive Skin'. Although this product contains MICROBEADS, I have teenage cousins who swear by it and having sampled the liquid just yesterday (I did not wash with it), I simply felt it and the 'beads' were barely noticeable. However, the product contains SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE which Dan days to always avoid:
Aqua, PPG-15 Stearyl Ether, Glycerin, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetyl Betaine, Salicylic Acid, Distearyldimonium Chloride, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Oxidized Polyethylene, Cetyl Alcohol, Alcohol, Steareth-21, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Hydroxide, Behenyl Alcohol, PPG-30, Steareth-2, Parfum, Dipropylene Glycol, Benzyl Salicylate, Limonene, Disodium EDTA, BHT.

'Cetaphil Gentle skin Cleanser' is for dry/sensitive skin and I have neither, so I don't know about this product, although the gentle nature of it does attract me. On the other hand, it contains Sodim Lauryl Sulfate, and there are no known spot-fighting ingredients in it:
Aqua/water, Cetyl alcohol, Propylene glycol, Bulylparben, Methylparben, Propylparben, Sodium lauryl, Sulfate, Stearyl alcohol

'Olay Gentle Cleansers Refreshing Face Wash'. I have used this product before and I found it extremely GENTLE and REFERESHING, just as advertised. There are no particularly scary ingredients in it but it does contain Sodium Laurate and Sodium Sulfate, but as separate ingredients:

Aqua, Sodium Lauroamphoacetate, PEG-200 Hydrogenated Glyceryl Palmate, Sorbitol, Glycerin, Sodium Lauroyl Sarcosinate, Sodium Trideceth Sulfate, PEG-7 Glyceryl Cocoate, Cucumis Sativus, Aloe Barbadensis, Sodium Laurate, Sodium Sulfate, PEG-100, Propylene Glycol, Sodium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride, Tridecyl Alcohol, Magnesium Nitrate, Citric Acid, Tetrasodium EDTA, Disodium EDTA, BHT, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben, Imidazolidinyl Urea, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone, Phenoxyethanol, Parfum, Hexyl Cinnamal, Butylphenyl Methylpropional, Linalool

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, and I would very much appreciate it if you could suggest ONE of the ABOVE cleansers that you feel I should use. Please take into account my skin type (OILY, NON-SENSITIVE) as well as the ingredients and PLEASE DO NOT state cleansers that are ONLY available in the US, as i live in London. :)

Even though you didn't list it, I would use Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser. Although i didn't use THAT version (because it's for oily skin) I used Cerave Hydrating Cleanser along with the moisturizer while I was on Accutane and it worked amazingly, I figured if the hydrating cleanser (which is for dry skin) worked good, why wouldn't do Foaming cleanser work as well for oily skin? It's pretty much the same as Cetaphil with more helpful ingredients.

haha thanks a lot but I just went out and bought the Olay refreshing face wash. Boots had a 3 for 2 offer so I also bought the St. ives Apricot Scrub. I'm gonna try it out but its no biggie if it doesnt work, as my mum will use it! As for the Olay face wash, Ive got a good feeling about it :)

Good luck with the Olay wash! I love their products.
I have to ask, though- why the aversion to Simple products?
I lived in the UK for a year and used their face washes religiously. They're gentle yet effective and they make formulations for all skin types (gel, foaming, and lotion cleansers, etc.) When my skin was really oily I used their Refreshing gel wash. I don't recall their products containing SLS/SLES, plus they're fragrance/irritant-free (always good for acne!) so maybe if the Olay doesn't work out give that a go? Posted Image
