250 posts in this topic

Im finding this too drying for my face...Using 15 green tea bags to 1 cup of water and a 1/4 tsp of celtic sea salt...My face looks worse in the morning and it not soothed at all. any thoughts? I have dry rosacean skin that continually plugs up and gets congested. Not too much active acne but alot of flat red spots that are rosacea related.

maybe try another batch with less salt? 1/4 tsp may be too much for you

Did you quit mosturizer and other products cold turkey? Definitely don't do that at least not the mosturizer, wean yourself off it. it was drying to me at first but my skin adjusted after about a week of stopping the mosturizer. Also you're using too little water, it's 1 and a half cups.

is it bad if you leave this out overnight? i accidentally did.

If you've only mixed together green tea and sea salt I can't imagine that it could spoil by leaving it out for just one night. if you added aloe to it I wouldn't be as sure, but in my opinion it will be fine to continure using it and just keep it in the refrigerator from now on.

Also you can try some homemade moisturizers, and gradually use less and less of them. I posted some recipes earlier in the thread. I'll try and link you to the page

Once you get the right ratio of water to green tea and salt, you may want to consider adding a little apple cider vinegar to bring the pH down to a level where you don't have the dry feeling. Try 1/4 tsp. or less per 1-1/2 cups distilled water. Also, maybe you could you 1/2 the amount of salt or none at all and see how that feels. Personally, I only use salt for spot treating, but that's just me. You just have to play around with the recipe and see what works for you.

Okay, I apologize in advance for this question but I really don't want to read through all the pages to see if there is an answer.

I have loose leaf mint green tea. Since it's not in bags I don't know how much to use. It's not very much itself probably about 1/4 cup.

Is this enough or would I have to modify for a smaller batch?

Keep in mind that loose leafs are better than the bags.

From my experience you just add enough water to cover the tea. As the tea swells you may need to add a little more water. Sorry I don't have exact measurements, but I use a variety of loose green teas and they swell at different rates so each batch is an adventure! Be sure to squeeze every last drop out!

Since I stopped using the cotton balls or squares to apply this toner because of the bleach content, I found a great product to use instead. It is a reusable bamboo towel. I found it in the cleaning aisle at Whole Foods for $1.69 and it can be purchased online. It comes in a 14" x 9" sheet and I cut it up into 3 x 3 squares. It is very thick and absorbent and is soft while still having a wee bit of texture. It rinses beautifully, can be washed, dries quickly and doesn't get stained by the tea. I am so impressed by this towel that I wanted to share. Here's a link: http://www.bambooee.com/shop/ (it's called the Freethinker on the Bambooee site, but it isn't called that on the package or in the store - it's just called "Reusable Bamboo Towel").

So I've been using this for just over a month now and it's completely cured my acne. Before this I was using the regimine for 4 months and a chemical cleanser + mosturizer for about 6 months before that. I was getting on average about 6 pimples a week that would each last a few days. When I started doing the regimine pimples became less common after a while but it made the red marks so much worse and it made my skin super red, flakey, scaley textured, it would often leave a residue on my face and it was really time consuming compared to this.

I've only had a couple small pimples since starting this and they were all on my upper lip or chin after not shaving for a while, plus they disapeared really quickly. Red marks have been gradually fading and I've been adding 1/8 tsp of lemon juice to the original recipe now for about a week and it's making them fade even quicker. I've only used loose tea and since I hear the teabags can negativley effect the PH you probably should too. I apply it with cotton balls, I dip one in so it's soaked and then use one for each side of my face, one for my forehead and one for my chin and nose.

The only side effect is I'm getting a few blackheads which I never used to get, which is probably just because I stopped using a chemical cleanser. You can only see them up close though and I haven't tried anything to get rid of them yet, they'll probably be super easy to get rid of. Also since I have super pale skin it leaves a greenish residue (which looks kind of like a tan) which is a problem when I use it in the mornings but I'm going to switch to white tea the next time I run out.

More people need to try this rather than going for all the extreme methods like BP and accutane the second they get acne. It worked brilliantly for me and it seems like it's worked for everyone else in this thread who followed the instructions properly. I'd love to get updates from everyone who posted earlier in this thread about their good results.

And guess what? I've made zero changes to my diet, in fact as I type this I'm eating a massive double cheeseburger. I do keep a paper towel with me though to make sure not of the oil from it goes on my face.

My diet basically consists of:

Oats

Juice

Frozen burgers on a white bun, sometimes with cheese

Frozen salmon

Scrambled eggs in sesame oil

White rice

Peanuts (though I stopped eating these recently)

Corn & potato chips

Random frozen junk food

Avocado

I'm also eating calorie surpluses since I'm trying to bulk up. So if anything my diet has gotten worse as far as the ideal acne diet goes. Not saying diet doesn't matter, it's obviously huge for some people, just that changing your diet might not even be nessecary with this toner. I do take a cheap multivitamin which I already did before and just a few days ago I started supplementing more vitamin D so I can get up to 4000 IU per day. I also do intense sprint exercises for about 15 minutes every morning before I shower which I remember reading is good for acne.

I'm probably gonna stop using this forum now which is why I made sure to post every single detail here. I'll still check in on this thread to see if other people have the same success as me though. I think I'll still try to change my diet so I can get perfect skin but I'm not in a rush to do that unless I stop making progress. Onefatalgoose is truly a legend, you've really changed my life for the better by sharing this. Cheers.

Since 400 ml = 1.7 cups and you haven't been using all that much, it's close enough. Try using more and not using the cotton balls because they have been bleached and it throws the pH of the solution off. Use a well-rinsed soft wash cloth or get some of the bamboo towels I mentioned a few posts back. Or just rub it in with your fingers.

Can this help my acne? Strictly whiteheads.....

Hey guys, I've had these little skin colored bumps for quite sometime and I want to finally deal with them, the pics are below but when I squeeze them out its like a string of puss, not very liquidy, just a long string of puss. Some that are on my chin are seriously impossible to get out and there isn't even an opening, and she i try to squeeze them out I just end up scarring my chin up even more. Ive tried just about everything from BP 10%, Salicylic Wash 2%, exfoliaters, and I'm currently doing 20% Salicylic Peels, I've done 3 of them in the past 2 weeks and haven't seen really any improvement except for the blackheads on my nose. I'm hoping someone has his problem and they know how to fix it..... Thanks.

You have to try it, No one can really say if it works for you because everyone is different. Try it for one week and see if you see some improvement. I had one upcoming acne pimple on my left and right cheek, after trying this for several days they are almost dissapeared. I drink a lot of green tea too.

I made my first batch last night, and I really love it. So far I have used it 3 times and it has not caused anything negative to happen.

I'm really excited about this!

I separated it into two different bottles. One has TTO and one does not.

Should this cause purging - my skin is extremely congested with active acne (inflamed/flesh colored/underground pimples)?

It's a rocky road but like everything else in life, there is always a beginning and an end. Here's to finding my end.

God is good to me..........more than I deserve.

James 1:2-4
