It's not something I've paid much attention to, I tend not to mix what I do on Facebook with what I do on acne.org. I'm not bothered too much, it's just that there are some things I prefer to keep within the message boards and I certainly wouldn't want to do anything which may mean other users' posts and so on are shared on my page.
I'm not at all a fan of the changes made to the site which have given more of a social network vibe to it and a lot of people do seem to have been put off by it.

^ This! As far as I'm concerned, we were better off without it.
So Paul, let me get this straight. Anyone with a Facebook account can "like" a topic on Acne.org, and then that topic is added to that person's timeline? And all their friends have access to it? I guess it's the same for images in the gallery?

Maybe I'm missing it, but I can't see anything in the gallery, on individual images, or on my own album that would let me "like" or post to Facebook. That's good. In fact that's essential because I'm certain nobody would want others to have the ability to post or "like" via Facebook. Based on the fact I can’t see anything, I assume they are safe, so to speak.
Seems to me that having visible Facebook-related buttons on the forums is unnecessary and would certainly be a concern for anyone who wishes to keep things private. After all, you don't need to be a member of the site to look at the boards and "like" a thread, thus bringing it to the attention of your Facebook contacts.

I've never paid any attention to it, in fact, if I hadn't of stumbled upon this thread I would not have known about it.

I don't know what happens if you log in via Facebook, I haven't actually tried that. Whether you log in that way or not, you could still post this or any other thread to your Facebook by clicking the Facebook "like" logo, just below the reply box.
Ah thank you for clearing that up!! So as long as I or anyone doesn't click that facebook like thing down the very bottom noone on facebook can see our stuff? Thats good because I'd hate to think people that I see everyday know I come on here. I'm not embarrassed by this place, god no it's just it's best if this is private...another question what happens if I 'like' a users post on here?? For instance if I clicked 'like this' under your post there in reply to me would that be posted to Facebook??
Yeah I agree I don't like the new changes to this site...another thing was that pesky mobile phone mode I had for days. That was a b*tch!! You can't beat old school I guess

I just liked your post, it didn't show up on my Facebook timeline, so I guess you're safe
eta: I used the "Login with Facebook" option here, not the Acne.org login.

lol this site is actually connected to facebook? fail xPP
Not really. Facebook and Twitter are separate services that could be used if the user set them up.
It is the option to use FB/TW account information to autorize yourself here.
You can change preferences any time in your profile:
Profile - Settings - Manage my Facebook (twitter)
