Hi guys, my girlfriend has acne-prone skin and she's been using this 100% natural mineral, hypo-allergenic, no chemicals, no dyes, fragrance-free makeup that she loves it's 100% Mineral Makeup here. Just thought I'd share this healthy makeup to my fellow acne friends!

I won't lie, and I'm a guy, but I used this stuff too to cover my past acne and I really loved it! I say that with no shame hehe. Posted Image

Careful with all the inferior products out that that clog your pores or have nasty chemicals in them.

+1 for mineral makeup!

I use Alima Pure and it's AWESOME. Only 3 ingredients, doesn't break me out, and great coverage. It doesn't get better than that.

P.S. kudos to you for even knowing what your girlfriend uses :P most guys wouldn't notice what type of makeup their girlfriend uses even if she tattooed the brand onto her forehead :P

Unless it says "noncomedogenic" on it then it will cause clogged pores. THE END.

Anyone living in Europe should consider trying out Lily Lolo! I began using Lily Lolo Mineral Make Up last year when I started looking for something cheaper than bareMinerals Mineral Makeup, and I've never gone back! I absolutely love it, and would recommend it to anyone with acne prone skin. You can get samples for really cheap if you're not sure of the shade that suits you best, and the actual foundation pots are huge and last forever! I wrote a blog post about it here if anyone's the slightest bit interested! :) :) :)

I looked up Alima Pure, as I'd never heard of the brand before now. According to the company's website, there are more than three ingredients in its mineral makeup. (See here: http://www.alimapure...p/our-minerals.) One of the ingredients is mica, which I've read can cause breakouts, especially for those who have acne-prone skin.

When I said 3 ingredients I was referring to their foundation which contains 3 and MAY contain 4. Mica, Zinc Oxide, Titanium Dioxide, and may contain Iron Oxide. Mica is only irritating if you are allergic to it :) But, that basically goes for ANY ingredient...

Could you direct me to the Alima Pure webpage where it shows 3-4 ingredients for that foundation? I checked the site again and only find one (mineral) foundation, and it has 7 ingredients: Ferric Ferrocyanide, Iron Oxides, Kaolin, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Ultramarines, and Zinc Oxide. (Not that 7 items is the highest number of ingredients out there. Posted Image )

I'm interested in trying a mineral makeup, but I don't know how well it may cover--or make more obvious--some of my indented scarring. I'm a bit leery about anything containing mica, since, years ago, I tried pressed powder that contained it and had issues from it. (Granted, issues could've been the result of a myriad of ingredients.) Plus, quite a few forum members seem to be very sensitive to mica. And since I break out even from Almay's oil-free make-up, that doesn't bode well for the idea of me wearing anything with mica. *sigh* I think I just talked myself out of trying mineral powder that contains it. Heh...

Ah, yep. If you hover your mouse over an individual foundation it lists out the ingredients :) They just re-designed their website so I had to ask on their facebook page how to tell, but I also double checked on the ingredients and they said I was correct :)

Their foundation covers my active acne and dark red marks really well (especially if you blend it with a couple drops of water and apply it like a liquid foundation). I have extremely sensitive skin and ANYTHING makes me break out but I have no problems with mica. Basically, you won't know for sure until you try it since no matter what you look up on this forum someone thinks it makes them break out ;)

Also, just because makeup is oil-free doesn't mean it's good for your skin! Most drugstore makeup is just full of junk... I checked all four ingredients that are found in Alima Pure's foundation with my esthetician and she said they were all fine, and zinc is even good for your skin!

But, don't try it just because I like it... Try stuff out for yourself and just see how you like it... and be sure to let us know what works for you! :)

Could you please send me a link to the Alima Pure webpage that allows you to hover your mouse over the foundation and see the list of ingredients? I don't dispute what you're saying, but I've hovered over the name Satan Matte Foundation, as well as photos of the product, on multiple webpages, and no list of ingredients shows up for me. :(

Thanks,

P.I.

PS: I agree that mica won't cause every acne-prone individual to break out. In my case, though, I believe that it does; I had trouble from pressed powder that contained mica--and likely a lot of other junk--that I tried years ago.

Not sure how great of quality that will show up as...

But the link is alimapure.com/face/satin-matte-foundation .... scroll quite a ways down until you get to the plain pictures of the foundations then hover your mouse over it :)

Although mica might break you out... you could at least try something containing it (and no other junk) again. There could have been a whole myriad of things in the Almay stuff that broke you out. You can buy foundation samples for like $1.50 I think and it's enough for quite a few applications :) But really, I don't want to push you into trying this if you don't want to! Do what YOU think is best for YOUR skin because everyone is difference! However, I just wanted everyone to know on these forums how great this makeup worked for ME :) And I'm just hoping someone else can benefit from my experience! )

Thank you for providing a screenshot, which turned out great. What's weird is that that same web address leads me to a page that looks quite different, but I am able to hover my mouse over the bottom images and see the ingredients list. (I was hovering over every other image and link on the page previously. Oy.)

I've heard great things about Jane Iredale but notice that it contains quite a few more ingredients, including Dimethicone, which I don't think is something that should be put on acne-prone skin. Plus, it's easier to narrow down a reaction to a product that contains only three ingredients. Heh...

The Almay foundation that I currently wear--only when necessary--is supposed to be one of the most recommended OTC brands, and, yet, I still get blocked pores and red bumps all over from it, including on/below my jawline. Go figure.

I am interested in at least sampling Alima Pure based on its short ingredients list.

Forgive me if you've already stated this, but what form of coverage do you get from Alima Pure--and what exactly are you trying to cover? I have active acne, red marks, and indented scars. (I'm unsure but think that powder of any sort may make indented scarring more noticeable. That's just my working theory; I'd have to try a product and wear it for about 9+ hours to see how it looks on my face long-term.)

Thank you again for all of the information!

The coverage is anywhere from light to full depending on how you apply it. My mom barely dusts one layer on and it gives her light coverage. I used to apply a couple heavier layers and it was medium coverage. Lately, I've been dumping a bit of the powder into the lid and then adding a couple drops of water and making kind of a liquid foundation which applies like a full coverage. I have a couple active spots and LOTS of red marks and it covers it all really well. I don't really have any indented marks so I can't say anything about that. But, you should know that mineral foundation doesn't feel powdery. It's not like the POOF! Type of stuff :)

But, I mean... it's not spackle so if you're looking for super duper heavy coverage this probably isn't it... But, this does look very natural basically no matter how you apply it! Which is another reason I love it :) Can I also add that I love their bronzers and blushes? haha :)
