Hey y'all. I'm on my 5th (last) month of Claravis. Seen great results, had the usual dry skin, dry lips, but other than that I've been great. Anyway, prom is coming up. I have not consumed any alcohol since I started my treatment, as I know directly on the box it says not to. But I want to drink on prom night. What do you think of this? I wouldn't go super hard, just a buzz maybe. Any experience with drinking while on the medicine? I know it's not good for me, I've heard the whole you only have one liver story, but if I didn't take my pills for the day, would it really be a big deal if I did drink?

I'm on Claravis, and I drank the other night. Probably too much, about 7 or 8 drinks. I think the reason it's not advised to drink while on accutane is because it would put even more strain on your liver. Your liver is constantly under stress to process the drug, and then introducing alcohol just compounds to the problem. I think you've done yourself a favor to avoid alcohol as much as you have, but I wouldn't be terrified to have a few drinks on prom night. Just don't get sloppy drunk.
