I'm not sure if I see an improvement... I've tried to take the pics from different lighting. As you can see, May looks good, but then you see June (in a different lighting) and it looks all bad again.... I'm on month 4, and almost ending....

Hey

I understand that you are confused, I was it myself when i was on accutane, and i took my last pill 1 week ago. It took me long time before I did see improvements of myself, but it take long time before it starts to be better, and it uses to be worse before it gets better. Just dont give up. Also I know that the doc's says that junk food etc dont have anything to say about pimples and stuff, I dont realy agree in that , it is more individual, so if I were you I would stop eating that much chips, junk food etc, just in case. and its also important to drink a lot of water.
good luck :)

Thanks but it's weird cuz I watch accutane dairies videos on youtube... people with mcuh much more acne than me and they see improvements in 3 months. Mine is not that bad compared to them and I do not see imrpovements. And my doctor said he doesnt want me going past four months of accutane :( ...

I know it gets worse before it gets better but by the third month it should start getting better... I actually saw improvements before, but not anymore... And my skin use to be super dry, nose super chapped, lips super chapped, but it stopped... I dont know if its because its not working... or maybe because i started using cetaphil (before i wasnt using anything)... i just hopei t gets better..

Also if someone could answer, what type of "acne" do I have based on those pictures? (or are they not acne?)

U should stop eating dairy products and cut the caffeine containing foods. Base on your pictures you have moderate to severe acne. Your face probably adjusted to the pill thats why the dryness subsided or maybe because of the cetaphil. Just continue taking accutane give it more time and if you're not truly satisfied then try using the regimen. I also have acne and it worsens whenever i sleep late at night or doesn't get much sleep.

I'm watching videos of people on YouTube, and I'm seeing people with way, wayyyyy worse acne than me, yet they healed at almost four months. Well, compared them, my acne is very minor, yet my acne process is healing very slow -- or none at all. I feel like it was progressing in the middle stage, but then it stopped. I'm thinking it's because maybe I've been lazy and have been eating junk food (not eating out, but eating chips, cookies) and recently I've been working so I've been drinking alot of lattes (usually I wouldn't) and that has 99% dairy... Here are some pictures..

I didn't even improve... Posted Image

I see SLIGHT improvements I mean now that I have two windows side by side but I also see new acne.... My doctor apparently sees an improvement, and I do too (the right side where it was worse). It went from WORSE to "very bad". So it did improve, but slightly. Left side I actually got new marks. I'm on my third months (I know on another thread I said I was on my fifth month, but I just realized it's only been three!), but my doctor said that he wants to take me out of accutane after my fourth month...Posted Image

And in those pictures, the Feb pictures was my starting month (first month) and the pictures from April was taken less than an hour ago

Im reading peoples posts, how does accutane clear them up 99% in the 2nd month? Im totally envious. I think it is definitly the dairy I had in my latte. I usually don't drink coffee, but it was my exam week that week, and for the seven days I drank maybe seven large lattes a day.

Products I use:
Morning:
Wash face with water.
Use Shiseido Sunscreen.

Night:
Cetaphil Gentle Cleanser
Cetaphil Moisturizing Lotion

No exfoliation. No mask.

And as for diet, I do not eat fast food, but I do eat junk food (like I said, chips, cookies). The only thing I drink is water. I don't like sweet stuff so I do not drink juice at all (so yes, that means strictly no pop). I eat a salad every day with a drop of ranch. I wish I had pictures from March because I swear I saw improvements...

I see your left side gets a lot of mprovement but the right side may take some time more. My doctor said it should take 5- 6 month to see full improvement. I am on the 5week accutane and still see so many break out everyday. I see ur habit diet which so much the same with me. I believe i eat mostly healthy foods: no junk food (very rarely ), eat vegetables , fruits a lot but i still have severe acne... That is terrible !!!.

Which accutane brand you have been taking and when you start to see the improvement

I see improvement, too! I think you are right on track with the dairy, cut that out! Also, just a word on cetaphil, too. I found that made me so greasy. Try going for a more light moisturizer once your skin stops being so dry (I use spectro hydracare with salicylic acid).
