  • Interests:I have suffered from acne since I was a teenager and have tried countless over the counter and prescription products. I was diagnosed with rosacea in August of 2011 and have been on a quest to decrease my flare ups and facial redness that can be very embarrassing. I am here to learn about what I can do to manage my acne and rosacea and hopefully help others along the way. Acne and rosacea can be personally and socially devastating and knowing that others are going through the same problems lets you know you aren't alone.

Hey all,
I was wondering if anyone has experienced the same symptoms...
I was diagnosed with rosacea and my triggers are foods, weather, emotions, etc. When I have a flare up, my chest and neck also get extremely red and experience the same burning sensation that my face does. I was wondering if anyone else experiences and flushing, redness and burning on other parts of their body when they have a rosacea flare up.

I have "pre-rosacea" symptoms (my father has horrible rosacea), and birth control, for whatever reason, really seems to help with mine (takes about six months for that effect to kick in), but I still flush occasionally/have a sunburned-looking streak across my cheeks/bridge of my nose + ears/neck/chest area.

Other things that have helped: switching to fragrance-free EVERYTHING (detergent, shave gel, soap/body wash/shampoo/conditioner), not using any petrolatum-based moisturizers as they tend to make me flush.
