Hey everyone, I just kinda wanted to share my regimen and hear some opinions. I officially started taking acne meds prescribed to me by my doctor on March 19 (doxy, erythromycin + BP, differin) but after inconsistently using them I visited the dermatologist on April 20 who replaced the doxy with Bactrim and the morning erythromycin + BP for Duac. I am to continue use of the Differin at night.

Has anyone followed a similar regimen? When did you start to see good results? Any tips for exfoliation during this process? My skin is currently looking pretty ick, I'm attributing this to the IB from the Differin since I just recently started using it more properly. I'm hoping the Bactrim and Duac will kick in fast to clear my preexisting mess on my face, but it's only been 6 days since I've been on this regimen exactly

My dermatologist said she was hopeful I would see improvement within a couple weeks, and I'm really hoping so because my prom is on May 14 and I want to hopefully be at least somewhat clearer. I've learned to be more patient but at the same time, I just want to know that this regimen is good for me. Anyways if anyone wishes to share anything, I'd really appreciate it!! My friends and family are great, but they obviously aren't going through this with me so it'd be great to relate to someone on here!

Oh lol and my prom is actually May 5....not that it matters really but I'm a nutcase and I don't know what prompted me to say the 14th. But I have a little over a week and I'm really hoping for some clearance!!

Hey there! I took Bactrim for about 2 years, actually just got switched to a new antibiotic last week. Of all the antibiotics I've been prescribed to treat my acne over the years, Bactrim was one of the best. It kept me clear for a VERY long time, but unfortunately I built up an immunity to the drug, which is just something that happens when it comes to oral antibiotics taken over long periods of time.

My best experience skin-wise came from the years that I took tetracycline and the years that I took bactrim. Hope it works out for you too! good luck.
